SECTION SF 30 - BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE
The following have been added by full text:
AMENDMENT 0003
RFI 0002
1. What is the elevation height from the ground to EJ-3 & EJ-4?
As-Built drawings in Appendix D show approximate contour lines of the ground below the bridge at time of bridge construction that provide information on the approximate height and reach to the bridge. Please note that further developments have occurred to the surrounding ground around the bridge that might alter some or all of these grades. Contractor is encouraged to visit the site to be familiar with the current condition for the bid.
2. How frequent is the train traffic?
It is up to the contractor to investigate train frequency.
3. What is the Amperage of the power lines over the roadway & going up to the pier and next to EJ-3 work area & will USAC take care of power company protection of wires?
South and North side of Bourne Bridge – There are two power cables with 2,100 volts and another cable with 120 volts that run from the bridge pier over the service road to utility poles adjacent to the service road. There is also a power cable with 4,160 volts that runs on poles along the service roads. Contractors are expected to maintain appropriate standoff distances between the cables and all equipment/personnel. In the vicinity of EJ-3 and EJ-4 on the bridge, all cables are within conduits.
4. How large an area will the contractor have for large manlift use?
Work area and duration required to work under each particular span of the bridge shall be incorporated in the Work Plan and be coordinated with the COR. See also response to Question #4 on Amendment 0001.
5. How will traffic control be taken care of? Are there specific dates that the contractor will not be allowed on the bridge roadway for work due to traffic concerns?
All work is under the bridge. No work is required at or above the road surface as stipulated in Specification Section 01 11 00, Para 1.1. See provisions stated in Specification Section 01 11 00, Para 1.1.6 for Temporary Short Term Lane Restrictions.
6. Will there be any variance in durations of 8 HR workdays or schedule for longer days or additional days?
See provisions stated in Specification Section 01 11 00, Para 1.7.1 for Hours of Operations and Work outside the normal hours of operations.
7. It was mentioned that the jump fence could be removed to access the underside of the bridge as long as it was replaced, will replacement be required by the end of every shift?
The intent of the project is for all work to be accessed and performed from under the bridge. Temporary Short Term Lane Restrictions provisions stated in Specification Section 01 11 00, Para 1.1.6 is intended only for limited duration for equipment and material delivery only. See Amendment 0001 on requirements for protection of traveling public and pedestrians.
