SUMMARY OF CHANGES
SECTION SF 30 - BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE
The following have been added by full text:
RFIS
1. Is primary power coming through this manhole?
Response: No, primary power comes via overhead pole across the road (not shown on plans). Photo of power pole is provided.
2. Are there spare conduit(s) that go into utility bldg. available?
Response: Multiple 2" spare conduits are shown on as-builts to be routed into the utility building. The largest conductor that can be landed on the existing 70A and 100A circuit breakers is 1/0 AWG. Both new feeders, reduced to 1/0 AWG phase conductors, will be within the conduit fill restraints of a 2" conduit per the National Electric Code. Feeders can be spliced per the specifications within existing HH-2 as it is an accessible location. See revised drawings for clarification.
3. Why are we cutting pavement and installing new conduit at this point?
Response: Intent is to install new conduits at existing HH-1 for continuation down to the Guard Booth (see revised drawings).
4. Is contractor allowed to temporarily block flow of storm water flow through culvert (Shown on sheet C-102) along other side of road to ensure this location is dry enough for install of new electrical conduit?
Response: Yes, temporary blockage (not to exceed 5 business days) would be allowed.
5. Do you know approximate depth of water line?
No record drawings, but assume depths vary between 3'-4'
6. Electrical plans call this out as 2.5" conduit, but in the field appears to 1.25". Please confirm existing size of conduit and that new feeder required will fit.
Response: This feeder can be reduced from what was originally designed and electrical engineer has confirmed this new feeder size will fit within the conduit fill restraints of a 1-1/4" conduit per the NEC. Refer to revised drawings for clarification.
7. Do we need another handhole for existing conduit line that runs into guard booth?
Response: An additional handhole will be useful in the cable installation process.
Refer to revised drawings for approximate location of additional new handhole.
8. Why does the new conduit route extend to end of road rather than cut across the grass? Could we potentially remove a pull point and shorten to something like the path shown?
Response: Proposed route acceptable. Refer to revised drawings for updated conduit route.
9. Please confirm size of conduit. At distribution, conduit appears to be 2.5", but then at the RV pedestal, appears to be 1.25". Does it transition below grade?
Response: We do not have as-built drawings which clearly define this conduit size or its transitions below grade. The RV pedestal feeder will require at minimum a 2" conduit per the NEC conduit fill requirements and therefore we will show this as new.
Refer to revised drawings for changes required.
10. What is the start date/ end date for the project?
Response: Please refer to solicitation.
11. We assume that after a safe disconnect of the wiring that all conduit and wire shall be removed by others.
Response: All work must be completed in accordance with the Specifications.
12. Will there be dumpsters on site for all trash?
Response: No, Contractor shall be responsible for debris generated during construction.
13. As far as we read the prints it shows that only the 2 rv pedestals are being demoed and they are being replaced with new pedestals and the wiring coming from the guard booth to the pedestal locations. As well as the new transformer to be installed for the new rv pedestals is this being done for a plan in future to add more pedestals?
Response: No, this distribution has been sized to accommodate 50-ampere and 20/30-ampere facilities at each of the two (2) RV pedestals.
14. Construction drawing reference C-101: Please confirm that there are qty 2- 2.5” conduits From Utility Building switch gear to Utility building vault in the parking lot.
Response: Please see response to RFI Question #2.
15. Construction drawing reference C-102: Are we reusing existing conductors from recreation area splice box to the bathroom?
Response: Yes, that is the intent.
16. Construction drawing reference C-102: Can we block the culvert and re-route temporarily to install conduits underneath?
Response: Please see response to RFI Question #4
17. Construction drawing reference C-104: Can we take a direct path across the grass next to Woodline. This will prevent us from will eliminate a pull box and save 200ft of conduit and conductors.
Response: Please see response to RFI Question #8
18. Construction drawing reference C104-105: Please confirm the conduit that runs from the guard shack to the RV transformer disconnect is 2in conduit for its entirety?
Response: We were able to observe both ends of the conduit, however, do not have as-builts of the installation below grade. Please see response to RFI Question #9 for additional information. Please see photo of conduit.
