SITE VISIT Q&A

Site Visit Q&A

- Are there PDFs for the space (even if not to scale) and indicate whether it’s a 1 a, b, c, or d system.

o Answer- Yes attached to amendment.

Quoters should note that the furniture represented on the attached drawings was done over almost two years ago. Generally speaking the 1D workstations are being installed in the smallest offices/alcoves. The 1A/B workstations offices will be installed in another wing of the building and the 1C workstations will be used in the large offices or Commander Offices.

Please note in your quote if the desk the return will be on the left or right and if there will be any price difference if it needs to be changed.

- For the systems that are for future areas will the vendor be responsible for assembly when the government is ready to install.

o Answer – yes installation will be completed at the North Wing.

- Confirming on all workstations that these are “L” shaped. The desk is height adjustable; the return is fixed.

o Answer – yes this is correct

- Manual or Electric control for the height adjusting?

o Answer - manual

‐ Confirming in the workstation description that the task chairs are listed as a separate line item (0020 – assume these are for the 1A) (Answer – this is Correct) and line # 0019 – for all other workstations (Answer – this is Correct)

‐ Confirming that 5.15 and 5.16 doesn’t apply to this quote, as we would be providing freestanding laminate furniture, not a panel system.

o Answer- This only applies to conference tables which will require the power and data to support built in outlets.

‐ Confirming we are not supplying any cabling for data lines.

o Answer- Cabling is only to be supplied for conference tables, from data drop through pedestal to pop-up ports.

‐ 5.20 – specs indicate desk tops to be laminated on the top, as well as the bottom. Most vendors laminate the top – not the underneath. Please confirm o Answer- Correct, not laminated on the bottoms

‐ 5.22 – 1A; the description for this workstation includes one arm chair. I don’t see that listed as a separate line – should it be included in the cost of the workstation.

o Answer- correct, unless otherwise listed, like for lobby area, workstations should include arms chairs when listed as part of workstation.

‐ 5.23 - 1B; description includes one nesting chair. Is this chair part of line #0008?

o Answer- Yes, part of line 8

‐ 5.24 – 1C; description includes one nesting chair. Is this chair part of line #0008

‐ 5.25 – 1D; description includes one nesting chair. Is this chair part of line #0008

‐ 5.27 – each workstation requires a task lamp – should we include this in the cost of each workstation , or will a separate line items be added o Answer- Yes add to the line item for the cost of the workstation.

‐ 5.28 – task chair; is up seat and mesh back acceptable vs mesh seat and mesh back?

o Answer- task chair is mesh seat and mesh back.

‐ 5.32 – entry way includes 3 end tables – I don’t see that as a separate line item?

o Answer- This is a design omission error, we created line item 0030 on the solicitation.

‐ 5.35 – same as workstation spec for the work surfaces. Most tops are finished on the top and edge – but not underneath where the bases are attached. Is that acceptable?

o Answer- Correct, not laminated on the bottoms

‐ Line # 0014 – is this standard desk height – or standing height o Answer- Standing height, 42” inches

‐ Line #0015 – tables are 60”W – what depth do they want (standard is 18”, 24”, 30” or 36”) o Answer- No less than 24” is acceptable, 30” is ideal

‐ Conference tables – confirming the style on the top. Perhaps when they mention “oval” they wanted the top racetrack in style vs rectangular.

o Answer- Racetrack was intended for only the (2) 120” conference tables, all others were intended to be rectangular. Both are options

‐ Which line item is the U shaped conference room? ( o Answer- The intent was to achieve U shape design with (3) rectangular tables, thereby allowing a more flexible reconfigurable room layout, these were from Line Item 007, the other one for conference room in the core.

‐ Can the government provide room dimensions for the locations of 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D.

o Answer- No since they vary, this was the rational for keeping desk tops no more than 66” wide, acknowledging that manufacturers have some size variations but safeguarding against a desk the occupant is unable to maneuver around.

‐ 5.26 it indicates that EACH desk top must be less than 66x48. Is that the case for ALL workstations?

Some could probably take a larger desk, but I didn’t know if that comment was made to keep all the same.

Dimensions we took for some of the private offices vary from (8’11 x 10’3”) (8’6” x 11’)( 17’11” x 10’7”).

I’m not certain which station goes where and it’s hard to determine what footprint each station should be. I can make them all the same for now and the difference will be some have a personal wardrobe or a bookcase and some don’t.

o Answer- This is acceptable, the intent is to not restrict space and allow for movement. Larger workstations and groups will be in larger offices.
