About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation W912PM26QA018, issued on February 9, 2026. The document addresses 19 clarification questions regarding a federal fire and security alarm system installation and monitoring contract for multiple U.S. Army Corps of Engineers facilities at Jordan Lake and Falls Lake. The contract requires the successful contractor to supply and install new non-proprietary fire and security alarm systems, provide monitoring services, and conduct monthly reporting and annual testing over a base period plus four option years. Systems will be installed at four primary locations: Jordan Lake Visitor Assistance Center, Falls Lake Visitor Assistance Center, Jordan Lake Maintenance Compound, Falls Lake Maintenance Compound, Jordan Dam Control Tower, and Falls Lake Dam Control Tower.

Key technical requirements include compliance with UFC3-600-01, NFPA 101, and NFPA 72 standards for all installations, components, and monitoring. Systems may be either wireless or hardwired depending on location and monitoring needs. Fire systems will not be partitioned, with each lake location having separate systems and alarms, though the vehicle compound may be partitioned for two buildings. All external doors will be alarmed at each location, with additional internal doors alarmed at Jordan Lake. Low-voltage cabling in control towers must be installed in conduit, with industry-standard CMP plenum-rated cable required. Internet connectivity exists only at the Jordan Lake Visitor Assistance Center; no internet is available at maintenance compounds or dam control towers. The contractor is responsible for all compliance costs, including those associated with UFC3-600-01, NFPA 101 Section 9.6, and NFPA 72 standards, which must be included in the bid total. No government-furnished equipment will be provided, and video surveillance systems are excluded from this requirement.
