QUESTIONS & ANWSERS

SOLICITATION W912P9-16-R-0018

GEOTECHNICAL DRILLING SERVICES

QUESTIONS 10-17

Question 10: What will be the geographical area where the work is being performed?

Answer 10: The major portion of the work will be within the St. Louis District boundaries; the contract is set up for CONUS exploration. If another District needs exploration and St. Louis District isn’t using the Contract up to it’s full capacity, that capacity may be ‘loaned’ to other Districts.

Question 11: Where will the overwater geotechnical exploration take place and how many locations for each hole or work area?

Answer 11: It is unknown at this time where or how much overwater geotechnical exploration will take place. Typically, overwater work takes place on the Mississippi or Kaskaskia Rivers. In the past we have drilled off of barges in front of Lock 24, Lock 25, Lock 27, near the Service Base, and at Cape Girardeau on the Mississippi and at Kaskaskia Lock and Dam, on the Kaskaskia River.

Question 12: How many crews will be required for each year?

Answer 12: Capability asks for 2 crews being supplied by the Contractor with 2 additional crews being able to be supplied via sub‐contract or joint venture mechanism, at the SAME TIME.

Question 13: Will locations be relatively close to each other, within a couple miles of each other or closer and will the work be continuous?

Answer 13: It is unknown at this time where and what quantity of holes will be awarded in a particular task order. Typically we award a single task order per a levee district area, or per work effort, although it is not uncommon for piezometer work to be spread over 3 or 4 levee districts.

Question 14: Can you provide us a map showing all possible locations of work?

Answer 14: As the work effort and extent is currently unknown, the best answer I can give is within the St. Louis District Boundaries.

Question 15: Will mobilization be paid for each mobilization or just one?

Answer 15: A single mobilization to the site and a demobilization from the site will be paid, for normal work environment. If a crew is required to be demobilized, through no fault of the Contractor, (i.e.:

flood situation), an additional remobilization can be negotiated within the task order.

Question 16: Can we get the “price list” form in an excel format?

Answer 16: Has been added to FedBizOps as an attachment.

Question 17: Is a bid bond required?

Answer 17: No
