4 XYZ Mapping High resolution XYZ mapping was included in the scope of work for this project. Above Ground Markers (AGMs) were used to spatially map the data produced by the run. Coordinates are reported in WGS84 data reference system with altitude geoid in EGM96.

GPS measurements of the marker locations were provided to PipeSurvey USA, to integrate with the IMU data and complete the IMU processing.

However, due to excessive speed excursions and stoppages (which give an accumulated of time of about 3 hours) during the MFL inspection, the IMU system installed in this tool restarted and resected multiple times. As a result, the data recorded by the MU device is degraded and considered inappropriate for any IMU data process.

Based on the above, and for getting a XYZ mapping of this pipeline, it was used the inertial data recorded by the MEMs device installed in the CAL tool, which recorded 100% of inertial data during the CAL run. In addition, and for improving the IMU accuracy, several reference markers were used from the pipeline alignment drawing provided by customer.

The table below lists the reference markers used for the inertial data process and the accuracy obtained after processing the IMU data.

Appendix A Technology Description

A.1.1. Caliper Tool Description Pipesurvey International’s Caliper is an advanced pipeline geometry pig with multi-channel high resolution that incorporates numerous extra devices which register the dynamic behaviour of the tool. The complete set of data offers valuable information about the pipeline geometry, such as deformations, curvatures, misalignments, bend radii. The Caliper sensors are in direct contact with the pipe wall and give a complete coverage of the circumference of the pipe. The sensors are of an extremely rugged design which makes the Caliper suitable for the hostile environment of even old and difficult to inspect pipelines. Further, the Caliper incorporates:

- Three odometers of a low-slip design for accurate location

- A time-based bench marking system linked with GPS coordinates (optional)

- Rotational and linear inertial sensors, to register the dynamic behaviour of the pig and provide information about the pipeline profile, bend radii and angles.

- High frequency linear inertial measurements to reveal data about friction, weld penetrations sediments and other pipe wall characteristics.

- Temperature and pressure sensors offer additional data which help to analyse the operational and pipeline conditions.

The Caliper is a versatile tool that can be applied for the assessment of pipeline features, conditions, and events, such as:

- Dents, buckles, wrinkles, ovalities, weld penetration

- Bends and bend radii, misalignment, slope instability, inclinations, landslides, river crossings

- Risers, valves, tees, and other pipeline installation features

- Sedimentations, wax growth zones, liquid slugs, erosion

DATsurvey ® Software is an extremely powerful and highly user-friendly diagnostic tool. It allows the user to visualize the detected features, view the pipeline on variable scale, select length sections, view cross sections, curved sections, and zoom in on anomalies and generate 3-D plots. Each spot can be printed on a data sheet with log distance, weld distance, the length of affected pipe, clock orientation and characteristics of the deformation. One can scroll through the complete inspection data, assess, and quantify deformations, correlate Caliper data with pig dynamics and pressure differential data, plot a velocity profile, monitor pipeline profiles and the operating conditions. The software can be installed on the user’s PC together with the data and is a helpful instrument to interpret measurements. It enables the pipeline operator to prioritize pipeline remediation activities.

A.1.2. MFL Tool Description

The Pipesurvey International MFL tool is designed with high density of Hall sensors, which measure the magnetic flux field in three orthogonal directions (radial, axial, and circumferential) for accurate measurement of metal loss volume. The sensors are stacked in a true, gap-less, sensor arrangement to cover the complete circumference of the pipe wall. Each sensor pad is of integrated rugged design, incorporating ID/OD sensors - based on high frequency Eddy Current technology - and quality sensors for lift-off and magnetization level. At the same time, the design of the measuring system offers sufficient flexibility to scan the near weld zone as accurate as possible. The sensor pads are combined on low friction wheel-supported magnetic yokes, which are arranged in such a way that the tool is able to pass through 1.5D radius bends and maximum 25% diameter reductions.

Due to the application of leading edge micro technology and power-friendly design, the tool is of short length, which offers advantages in areas where space is limited, such as offshore services.

Magnetization of the pipe wall is achieved by direct magnetic contact without the usage of brushes. Thus, there is no risk of losing bristles and the bristles cannot interfere with pipeline components such as flexible pipe, valves and instrumentation. The magnetic yoke is of smooth design, using soft materials and round edges on all extremities, to eliminate any danger of damage to the tool or to the pipeline components.

The Pipesurvey International MFL tool distinguishes itself from other tools in the market in that it is a versatile tool. The tool can be equipped with cups for long distance operation in transmission lines; it can also be equipped with special design discs for reverse flow operation, which opens new frontiers in MFL inspection. In-line inspection of sub-sea pipelines ending in wellheads or subsea manifolds, jetty lines, tank-farm lines, flow lines and other ‘unpiggable’ lines is now possible.

The MFL tool is equipped with three odometers for the determination of distance in the pipeline. Above Ground Markers, which incorporate GPS technology, can be used in onshore applications to detect and record the pig passage.

The design and engineering of the MFL pig is in accordance with prevailing standards of workmanship, expertise, national and international standards. This covers, but is not limited to, the following issues:

1. mechanical components are designed, and pressure tested with respect of the applicable safety factors

2. all electronics are shock and vibration resistant up to 50 g forces.

3. batteries are triple fused, battery compartment is temperature and pressure monitored.

4. disc and cup rubbers are designed to a safe blow-over pressure.

5. lifting and handling lugs are in accordance with international standard.

DATsurvey® Software is a powerful and user-friendly diagnostic tool. It allows the user to visualize the detected features, view the pipeline on variable scale, select length sections, view cross sections, curved sections, zoom in on anomalies and generate 3-D plots.

Each feature can be printed on a data sheet with log distance, weld distance, the length of affected pipe, clock orientation and characteristics of the anomaly. One can scroll through the complete inspection data, correlate inspection data with pig dynamics and pressure differential data, plot a velocity profile, monitor pipeline profiles and the operating conditions. The software does not require installation on the user's PC and is a helpful instrument to interpret measurements. It enables the pipeline operator to prioritize pipeline-remediating activities.

The measurements performed to determine metal loss in the pipeline are based on the Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL) principle. The MFL tool induces an axially oriented magnetic field in the pipe wall between the two poles of two magnets.

Figure A-6-1 MFL Technology

14000 Rev00 Final Inspection Report UNCONTROLLED IF PRINTED 14 of 41

A homogeneous steel wall without metal loss creates an undisturbed and uniform distribution of magnetic flux. Metal loss associated with the steel wall causes a change in the distribution of the flux, which in case of a near-saturated pipe wall, leaks out of the steel.

The degree of magnetic field strength induced in the pipe wall, determines the saturation of the pipe wall. Higher saturation leads to stronger leakage signals from the metal loss while reducing effects variation in material properties.

Sensors detect and measure the leakage of magnetic flux. The magnitude and shape of the leakage field is used to determine the size and shape of the metal loss area. Since the magnetic field is a vector field, the flux leakage is best measured by means of tri-axial hall sensors.

The measurement is a relative wall thickness measurement, calculating the metal loss in a percentage of the known local wall thickness. Calibration of the tool is performed by pull tests, measuring the leakage signals of defects with a variety of sizes and wall thicknesses.

The leakage signals are collected by the latest technology microprocessors and data analysis programs in order to determine the metal loss feature length, width and depth. These data act as a basis for defect severity ranking, using assessment methods such as ASME B31 G, in order to determine the safe working pressure of a pipeline. Additional fit-for-purpose analysis and repair strategies can also be provided.

Additional sensors are used in order to determine whether a feature is on the internal or external surface of the pipeline. The technology used is based on eddy currents, using an alternating electromagnetic field to determine the distance to the pipe wall. If metal loss is present on the inside of the pipe wall the change in signal will indicate the surface location of the defect.

B.4. Definition of Clock Position The location of a feature on the circumference of the pipe body is described by its clock position. This defines 12:00 being the top of the pipeline and 6:00 the bottom. The clock position describes the location of the centre of the boxed area holding the anomaly. The clock position is not defined for vertical sections in the pipeline and for features that are fully circumferential.

Figure B-1 Definition of clock position

14000 Rev00 Final Inspection Report UNCONTROLLED IF PRINTED 22 of 41

B.5. Deformation + Ovality Calculation All deformations and ovalities are calculated in accordance with the POF 2016 standard [1].

A deformation, or reduction in the cross section of a pipe, is expressed as the reduction in outside diameter. This reduction is calculated using the following equation:

𝐼𝐼𝐼𝐼𝑟𝑟𝑟𝑟𝑟𝑟 − 𝐼𝐼𝐼𝐼𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚

𝑂𝑂𝑂𝑂𝑛𝑛𝑛𝑛𝑛𝑛

 × 100%

With:

𝐼𝐼𝐼𝐼𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚 minimum measured inner radius in the dent

𝐼𝐼𝐼𝐼𝑟𝑟𝑟𝑟𝑟𝑟 local reference measured inner radius

𝑂𝑂𝑂𝑂𝑛𝑛𝑛𝑛𝑛𝑛 nominal outside diameter

The ovality ratio is calculated as follows:

𝑂𝑂𝑂𝑂𝑂𝑂𝑂𝑂𝑂𝑂𝑂𝑂𝑂𝑂 =

𝐼𝐼𝐼𝐼𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚 − 𝐼𝐼𝐼𝐼𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚

𝐼𝐼𝐼𝐼𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚 + 𝐼𝐼𝐼𝐼𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚

× 100%

With:

𝐼𝐼𝐼𝐼𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚 minimum measured inner diameter

𝐼𝐼𝐼𝐼𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚 maximum measured inner diameter with the restriction that IDmin and IDmax must be perpendicular to each other.

IDmin

IDmax

B.6. Classification of Metal Loss The POF [1] dictates the classification definition for defect geometry as shown in Table .

The geometrical parameters of a metal loss feature are length L, width W and depth d. The reference wall thickness 𝑡𝑡 is the nominal thickness in which the metal loss is present.

The geometrical parameter A is defined as follows:

If 𝑡𝑡 < 10 𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚 then 𝐴𝐴 = 10

If 𝑡𝑡 ≥ 10 𝑚𝑚𝑚𝑚 then 𝐴𝐴 = 𝑡𝑡

Geometrical metal loss feature classes are defined as shown in Table B-9 and Figure B-2.

B.7. Interaction Rule

Interaction rule for clustering of anomalies is supplied by the customer.

5Interaction Rule with reference to Figure B-3:

a) Flaws are considered interacting if spaced from each other circumferentially (C) and/or longitudinally/Axially (A).

b) Flaws are considered non-interacting if spaced outside of the above dimensions.

Figure B-3 Interacting defect dimensions

A cluster may hold several anomalies, which are indexed individually and can be referred to in the list of clusters. Cluster defect peak depth is dictated by the deepest defect found in the clustered events.

B.8. Remaining Strength Calculation The significance of each metal loss feature is calculated by using the ASME B31G Level 2 RSTRENG, ASME B31G Level 1 Modified and ASME B31G Level 1 Original evaluations [2] for the remaining strength. For an in-depth explanation and limitations of these methods please refer to the norm. The result of the remaining strength calculation is a failure pressure (𝑃𝑃𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓) and the Failure Pressure Ratio (𝐹𝐹𝐹𝐹𝐹𝐹), or it can be a safe operating pressure (𝑃𝑃𝑠𝑠𝑠𝑠𝑠𝑠𝑠𝑠) and the Estimated Repair Factor (𝐸𝐸𝐸𝐸𝐸𝐸) [1].

The Failure Pressure Ratio defines the ratio between a calculated 𝑃𝑃𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓 and the current maximum allowable operating pressure

(𝑀𝑀𝑀𝑀𝑀𝑀𝑀𝑀).

𝐹𝐹𝐹𝐹𝐹𝐹 =

𝑃𝑃𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓𝑓

𝑀𝑀𝑀𝑀𝑀𝑀𝑀𝑀

The Estimated Repair Factor defines the ratio between the current maximum allowable operating pressure (𝑀𝑀𝑀𝑀𝑀𝑀𝑀𝑀) and a calculated 𝑃𝑃𝑠𝑠𝑠𝑠𝑠𝑠𝑠𝑠 .

5 Interaction Rule is listed within the Executive Summary.

The remaining strength calculations are not applied when the defect depth exceeds the 80% of the nominal wall thickness. When defects of this type are found, the FPR value is set to <1.1, and the ERF value is set to >1.0.

For the remaining strength calculation, the following values are required:

𝐿𝐿 Effective length of metal loss 𝑑𝑑 Effective depth of metal loss in mm (or inches) 𝑡𝑡 Pipeline nominal wall thickness in mm (or inches) 𝐷𝐷 Pipeline diameter in mm (or inches)
