Performance Work Statement Electrical Equipment Repair and Maintenance for the Dredge Wheeler
C-1. GENERAL INFORMATION
1.1 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District has a requirement for inspection, maintenance, and repairs to electrical and electronic dredging equipment, propulsion system, and auxiliary systems aboard the Dredge Wheeler. The contractor must provide all necessary labor, supervision, tools, supplies, materials, equipment, shop facilities, and transportation (except those items identified as government-furnished in Section C-5 of this PWS), to perform the scope of work, as described in the following paragraphs.
1.2 The Dredge WHEELER is a sea-going large class hopper dredge, 408 feet in length, 10,614 gross tons. The majority of the work will be performed while the dredge is moored at the Corps of Engineers wharf, which is the vessel's home port, and is located at 7400 Leake Ave, New Orleans, Louisiana 70118. However, it may be necessary for the Contractor to travel to the Dredge at the various work sites to perform emergency repairs as it becomes necessary throughout the year. The period of performance will be for one base year with four subsequent optional years (see Section B), exercisable at the sole discretion of the Government. The Government reserves the right to use or not use any part of line items proposed on, as well as not to invoke usage of any or all of the optional years.
1.3 PRE-PROPOSAL SITE VISIT – For proposal purposes, prospective offerors are encouraged to make a site visit prior to solicitation closing date. A site visit aboard the Dredge Wheeler located at the Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, 7400 Leake Ave, New Orleans LA 70118 is scheduled by appointment. All arrangements for the site visit must be made by calling Bob Brockway at (504) 862-2049.

The Contractor should consider a mobilization point, for pooling purposes, or possibly bussing employees to the job site. Only previously approved company identified vehicles and pedestrians, possessing company identification will be granted access to this Army Reservation.
(NOTE: Pedestrian crossing at either entrance to this reservation is not posted or policed and is therefore considered dangerous.)
1.5 Access to District offices will be authorized for official business purposes, including cafeteria services. Precautions should be taken to protect Government facilities from the effects of greasy or dirty clothing. No roaming of the reservation grounds, buildings, or offices will be allowed.
1.6 DISTRICT SECURITY - Upon contract award, the contractor shall provide a detailed and complete listing of all individuals and vehicular access requirements. This listing must be updated as required by the Security Office.
