About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for the Nashville District Corps of Engineers Pickwick Lock Dewatering, Scaffolding Rental project (Solicitation Number W912P525QA030). The document contains two primary questions from potential contractors regarding the project: (1) a request for a site visit to perform measurements, and (2) an inquiry about personnel elevator availability. The government's responses clarify that estimated scaffolding measurements are included in the Statement of Work (SOW), and while a site visit is not deemed necessary, contractors may still request one. Reference photos have been provided to help understand the layout, but these are explicitly noted as being for reference only and not providing exact measurements or precise locations.

The government emphasizes that contractors should rely solely on the SOW for specifications and measurements, noting that specific scaffold platform lengths for the upper and lower chamber ends will need to be determined in the field based on scaffolding location. Additionally, the response to the second question definitively states that no personnel elevator is available for accessing the bottom of the area for scaffolding erection. The solicitation is set for quote submissions by 25 June 2025 at 10:00 AM Central Time, with the project involving dewatering and scaffolding rental at the Pickwick Lock site.

QUESTION AND ANSWER

Question 1: Our team would like to request a site visit to perform measurements, is this a possibility?

Government Response: The estimated measurements for the scaffolding are included in the

Statement of Work (SOW) document. As such, a site visit is not deemed necessary.

However, we remain open to accommodating site visit requests from any contractor who chooses to submit one in response to this RFI.

To aid in understanding the layout, reference photos have been provided. Please note:

• These photos are for reference only.

• They do not provide exact measurements or precise locations.

• The SOW mentions step off platforms for both the upper and lower end of the chamber, the lengths required to reach both the upper miter sill and caisson will need to be determined in the field as these will be dependent on the location of the scaffolding

• They are intended to illustrate general location and constraints.

• The photos are not part of the SOW and do not dictate any specific contract requirements.

Contractors should rely solely on the SOW for specifications and measurements

Question 2: Is there a personnel elevator to get to the bottom for scaffolding erection?

Government Response: No, a personnel elevator is not available.
