Question 1: Is the depth of both parachute storage tables to be 30” or 36”. It seems that 36” deep wouldn’t leave enough room to work on both sides or enough of an aisle.
Answer 1: Tables should be 30” deep. The current table we are using is 40 feet long by 30 inches wide by 36 inches high and is sufficient for parachutes we are currently packing. The total length of the systems shall not exceed 43’3”.
Question 2: There appears to be a bump out on the eastern wall in the drawing that is not mentioned in the SOW. Can you provide clarification?
Answer 2: That is correct; the column that supports the roof is sticking out 4” on the interior wall.
Additionally, there is an obstruction in the way of a small pillar support on the northwestern wall opposite the 4” bump out shown in the drawing. That bump out measures 16 ¼”W x 23 5/8”H x 8
3/8”D. It must be accounted for in the design, as the storage system will only be able to go up to it, and not over it.
Question 3: Do you want a laminate top or a Butcher block? Both are shown in the pictures
Answer 3: Maple butcher block
Question 4: Does the parachute storage underneath require just shelves, and openings on both sides of the tables or does it need to have doors and a back to close them in entirely? (There were 2 images shown of examples, one with shelves and no doors and one with doors)
Answer 4: Shelves open on both sides for storage under the table for parachutes and two (2) consolidated tool kits at the end of each table (total of 4 tool boxes).
Question 5: Turnaround time for delivery is listed as 6 weeks. Due to production times it would need to be 14 to 16 weeks, as 6 weeks in not possible.
Answer 5: The delivery date has been extended to 16 weeks after award.
Question 6: In the SOW it calls out for tension attachments, Can you provide more info on what is required?
Answer 6: The tension attachment will be provided by the Government and installed after the parachute packing table is installed.
Question 7: I do not see drawers in the SOW, Would you like a set of lockable drawers in the first section of each table?
Answer 7: These tables will require storage underneath for parachutes and two (2) consolidated tool kits at the end of each table (see Example 1) and answer 4.
Question 8: We can provide the tables but not the tension attachment. Is that something you are willing to source separately?
Answer 8: See answer 6.
Question 9: Will installation for this requirement be covered by Prevailing Wages or will it be Non‐ union?
Answer 9: Installation for this requirement is considered ancillary to the requirement to provide the tables, therefore the requirement for prevailing wages will not apply.
