Specifications

A. WORK TO BE DONE:

1. The work to be performed under this project consists in furnishing all plant, labor, equipment, appliances, materials and performing all operations in strict accordance with ethical accepted practices of engineering.

2. The following is a list of the principal features of the project as described in the specifications, shown, noted or implied upon in the accompanying drawings, showing the general characteristics and extent of the work. Parts not specifically detailed shall be constructed in a manner and spirit conforming to the class of work required for the whole project.

3. The Contractor must perform a site visit in coordination with the Contracting Officer to verify the existing site and facility conditions. Any differing conditions shall be notified in writing to request clarification. The Contractor is solely responsible for verification of dimensions and quantities.

4. The work to be performed in accordance with UFC 1-200-01 “General Building

Requirements”, NFPA 101 “Life Safety Code”, and IBC 2012 “International Building

Code 2012, UFGS “Unified Facility Guide Specifications” as well as the base contract specifications and this statement of work.

B. SPECIFICATIONS:

1. The Contractor shall identify and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local statutes. A partial list is presented in at the end of this document and in the Standard

Design Criteria. It is the Contractor’s fundamental responsibility to identify and comply with all mandatory federal and applicable DoD and Air Force requirements whether or not listed specifically in these two documents.

2. Unified Facilities Guide Specification (UFGS) Web Site:

3. The following specifications are included as part of this Statement of Work to include required submittals and must be followed and complied with as part of the scope of work for this project.

The following guide specifications shall be utilized for this project. It can be found at the

Whole Building Design Guide website referenced in paragraph 2 of this Statement of

Work.

SECTION 07 31 13 ASPHALT SHINGLES

C. SCOPE OF WORK:

BUILDING 1

1. Provide lump sum price.

2. High Roof Section: Remove existing impermeable roof and insulation down to the roof deck on the high roof portion of the building (approximately 3200 SF – contractor shall field verify and perform work on actual size). Inspect existing roof deck for replacement or repair. Replace or repair damaged roof deck found during inspection. Install spray polyurethane foam on roof (see UFGS 07 57 13 SPRAYED POLYURETHANE FOAM

ROOFING) and reseal the entire high metal roof with a spray applied silicone coating with granules as specified in the attached UFGS 07 57 13 SPRAYED

POLYURETHANE FOAM ROOFING specification.

3. Repair roof top exhaust fan with like kind.

4. Remove and cap unused roof vents/openings (2 locations).

5. Repair (1) wall exhaust vent on the north side of the high building.

6. Repair any areas where water can pond on roof deck.

7. Remove and replace south side parapet flashing, and top layer of roof to parapet transition (140 ft – contractor shall field verify and replace actual area dimension).

Remove and replace (140ft – contractor shall field verify and replace actual area dimension) of north side parapet flashing and reseal roof to parapet transition all around the roof. See attached Appendix A drawing for exact locations for this work.

8. Replace modified bitumen roof sections for areas shown on drawing in Appendix A:

Remove existing roofing, insulation and flashing for these areas. Clean and prepare the roof deck for application of new modified bitumen roof. Install new roof insulation, edge/parapet flashing, and new modified bitumen roof per the attached relevant specifications.

9. Remove and replace the 60 ft (contractor shall field verify and replace actual area dimension) expansion joint with like kind.

10. Repair perimeter metal flashing on single story, replace perimeter metal flashing on high roof (160 ft – contractor shall field verify and replace actual area dimension) with stainless steel type, storm water gutters on high roof (160 ft – contractor shall field verify and replace actual area dimension) with stainless steel type, and 6 downspouts (stainless steel type) as depicted in the drawing in Appendix A.

11. Replace 2 roof drain grates.

12. Replace 130 each (contractor shall field verify actual number missing and replace actual number), 2 ft x 3 ft roof walking pads.

13. Reseal any other roof modified bitumen panels where water leaks to prevent all water from leaking into the building.

BUILDING 3

2. Remove damaged metal roof deck over the fuel storage area per the drawing in Appendix

B.

3. Install new tube steel facia framing of like kind on the south side of the diesel fuel storage roof. Match north side framing.

4. Install new metal roof and edge panels with like kind for the fuel storage roof.

5. Install new stainless steel downspout and stainless steel gutter along diesel fuel storage

6. Replace perimeter metal flashing with stainless steel cap flashing and 2” x 6” pressure treated top plate (140 ft – contractor shall field verify and replace actual length of flashing) around the roof perimeter.

BUILDING 11

1. Remove existing impermeable roof and insulation down to the roof deck of the high roof

(approximately 2000 SF – contractor shall field verify and perform work on actual area).

2. Inspect existing roof deck for replacement or repair.

3. Replace or repair damaged roof deck found during inspection for both the high and low roof.

4. Repair any areas where water can pond on roof deck.

5. Remove and replace flashing with stainless steel type (100ft - contractor shall field verify and replace actual length)

6. Install spray polyurethane foam on high roof (see UFGS 07 57 13 SPRAYED

POLYURETHANE FOAM ROOFING) and reseal the entire high metal roof with a spray applied silicone coating with granules as specified in the attached UFGS 07 57 13

SPRAYED POLYURETHANE FOAM ROOFING specification.

BUILDING 13

Remove and replace existing metal roof deck panels and insulation (approximately 4200

SF – contractor shall field verify and replace actual area dimension) with like kind new standing seam metal roof using the UFGS SECTION 07 61 14.00 20 STEEL

STANDING SEAM ROOFING provided with this SOW.

2. Remove and replace perimeter metal flashing (120 ft – contractor shall field verify), storm water gutters (140 ft – contractor shall field verify), and (6) 25 ft (contractor shall field verify and replace actual length) downspouts.

3. Install spray polyurethane foam on roof (see UFGS 07 57 13 SPRAYED

POLYURETHANE FOAM ROOFING) and seal the entire high metal roof with a spray applied silicone coating with granules as specified in the attached UFGS 07 57 13

SPRAYED POLYURETHANE FOAM ROOFING specification.

BUILDING 31

2. Remove and replace (2) downspouts with stainless steel type and splash blocks.

BUILDING 32

2. Install drip edge (160 ft – contractor shall field verify length and install along actual length of roof)

3. Remove and replace existing roof felt and asphalt shingles (2400 SF – contractor shall field verify and replace roof for actual area) using UFGS SECTION 07 31 13 ASPHALT

SHINGLES for approved materials and installation methods.

D. SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

1. Solid Waste Management:

All waste materials and debris generated by work under this contract shall be processed, handled, transported, stored, and disposed of by the contractor in accordance with all federal, state, local, regulations, and laws. All waste streams will be quantify and reported to the Base Environmental Manager.

2. Fire Safety:

The Contractor shall comply with all local fire regulations and NFPA 241 during all demolition and construction work. All fire extinguishers required shall be provided and maintained by the contractor, but must be approved for use by the contracting officer prior to use. “Hot-work” operations, those involving welding, soldering, brazing, or torch heating shall not commence before an AF Form 592 is completed and signed by the Fire Inspector. The contractor shall contact the Fire Department’s inspection section at least one work day prior to hot-work operations for assistance and completing the Form 592. There shall be no open burning of waste materials or debris during this contract.

E. LOCATION OF THE WORKS:

1. The site of the work covered by these specifications is 141ST ACS ANG Base, Aguadilla, P.R

Must request Digging Permit before work start.

Must fill out Base Access Letter before project start.

Must request permit to use open flame equipment or grinders.

11. Contractor Manpower Reporting Application (CMRA): The contractor shall completely fill in all required data fields using the following web address: http://www.ecmra.mil/

Reporting inputs shall be for the labor executed during the period of performance during each Government fiscal year (FY), which runs October 1 through September 30.

12. Every day all garbage and remaining materials related to the work will be taken to a garbage container provided by contractor.

13. Only company cars with distinctive logos posted at passenger and driver doors will be authorized inside BASE premises.

14. All personnel are required to show a valid not expired ID in the main entrance gate before entering the Base premises.

15. At the end of each working day all areas will be clear from equipment, tools and materials.

16. Special precautions will be taken at no cost to government to protect base property during the project execution.

17. The use of Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory at all time while working in the project.

2. Manufacturer warranty letter up to 20 years per the attached roofing specifications.

3. Recycling or landfill proof of disposition document.

4. Contractor certificates of no debts to suppliers and vendors.

5. Commissioning and acceptance of system.

J. EXISTING CONDITIONS: as of 2-NOV-2017

1. High Winds sustained by Hurricane Maria damaged roofs, flashing and gutters/downspouts on facilities all over base.

2. Debris from the storm was deposited on the roofs of many structures causing drainage problems

1.3 MANUFACTURER'S CERTIFICATE

Submit certificate from the insulation manufacturer attesting that the installer has the proper qualifications for installing tapered roof insulation systems.

Certificate attesting that the expanded perlite or polyisocyanurate insulation contains recovered material and showing estimated percent of recovered material. Certificates of compliance for felt materials.

1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.4.1 Insulation on Steel or Concrete Decks

Roof insulation shall have a flame spread rating not greater than 75 and a smoke developed rating not greater than 150, exclusive of covering, when tested in accordance with ASTM E84. Insulation bearing the UL label and listed in the UL Bld Mat Dir as meeting the flame spread and smoke developed ratings will be accepted in lieu of copies of test reports.

Compliance with flame spread and smoke developed ratings will not be required when insulation has been tested as part of a roof construction assembly of the type used for this project and the construction is listed as fire-classified in the UL Bld Mat Dir or listed as Class I roof deck construction in the FM APP GUIDE. Insulation tested as part of a roof construction assembly shall bear UL or FM labels attesting to the ratings specified herein.

1.4.3 Sustainable Design Certification

Product shall be third party certified by GEI Greenguard Indoor Air Quality

Certified, SCS Scientific Certification Systems Indoor Advantage or equal.

Certification shall be performed annually and shall be current.

1.4.5 Local/Regional Materials

See Section 01 33 29 LEED(tm) DOCUMENTATION for cumulative total local material requirements. Roof insulation and materials may be locally available.

1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

1.5.1 Delivery

Deliver materials to site in manufacturer's unopened and undamaged standard commercial containers bearing the following legible information:

a. Name of manufacturer;

b. Brand designation;

c. Specification number, type, and class, as applicable, where materials are covered by a referenced specification; and

Deliver materials in sufficient quantity to allow continuity of the work.

1.5.2 Storage and Handling

Store and handle materials in a manner to protect from damage, exposure to open flame or other ignition sources, and from wetting, condensation or moisture absorption. Store in an enclosed building or trailer that provides a dry, adequately ventilated environment. Replace damaged material with new material.

1.6 ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Do not install roof insulation during inclement weather or when air temperature is below 40 degrees F and interior humidity is 45 percent or greater, or when there is visible ice, frost, or moisture on the roof deck.

1.7 PROTECTION OF PROPERTY

Provide protection as specified in Section 07 52 00 MODIFIED BITUMINOUS

MEMBRANE ROOFING.

PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.1 INSULATION

2.1.1 Insulation Types

Roof insulation shall be the following material and compatible with attachment methods for the specified insulation and roof membrane:

a. Polyisocyanurate Board: ASTM C1289 Type II, fibrous felt or glass mat membrane both sides, except minimum compressive strength shall be 20 pounds per square inch (psi).

2.1.3 Recovered Materials

Provide thermal insulation materials containing recycled materials to the extent practical. The required minimum recycled material content for the listed materials are:

Polyisocyanurate/polyurethane: 9 percent recovered Material

2.1.4 Insulation Thickness

As necessary to provide a thermal resistance (R value) of 20 or more.

Thickness shall be based on the "R" value for aged insulation.

2.1.5 Tapered Roof Insulation

One layer of the tapered roof insulation assembly shall be factory tapered to provide a slope of not less than 1/4 inch per foot in the valleys.

Provide starter and filler blocks as required to provide the total thickness of insulation necessary to meet the specified slope and thermal conductance. Mitered joints shall be factory fabricated and shall consist of two diagonally cut boards or one board shaped to provide the required slopes. Identify each piece of tapered insulation board by color or other identity coding system, allowing the identification of different sizes of tapered insulation board required to complete the roof insulation system.

2.1.6 Cants and Tapered Edge Strips

Provide preformed cants and tapered edge strips of the same material as the roof insulation; or, when roof insulation material is unavailable, provide pressure-preservative treated wood, wood fiberboard, or rigid perlite board cants and edge strips as recommended by the roofing manufacturer, unless otherwise indicated. Face of cant strips shall have incline of 45 degrees and vertical height of 4 inches. Taper edge strips at a rate of one to 1

1/2 inch per foot down to approximately 1/8 inch thick.

2.2 PROTECTION BOARD

For use as a protection board for torched-down, or adhesively-applied roofing membrane over roof insulation.

2.2.1 Glass Mat Gypsum Roof Board

ASTM C1177/C1177M, 0 Flame Spread and 0 Smoke Developed when tested in accordance with ASTM E84, 500 psi, Class A, non-combustible, 5/8 inch thick, 4 by 8 feet board size.

2.6 FASTENERS

An adequate fastening system should be provided by the roofing manufacturer. The following are minimums, but roofing manufacturer guidance must be complied with including any minimum values they provide.

Flush-driven through flat round or hexagonal steel plates. Steel plates shall be zinc-coated, flat round not less than 1 3/8 inch diameter or hexagonal not less than 28 gage. Plates shall be formed to prevent dishing. Do not use bell-or cup-shaped plates. Fasteners shall conform to insulation manufacturer's recommendations except that holding power, when driven, shall be not less than 120 pounds each in steel deck.

2.6.3 Fasteners for Steel Decks

Approved hardened penetrating fasteners or screws conforming to FM 4470 and listed in FM APP GUIDE for Class I roof deck construction. Quantity and placement to withstand uplift pressures to provide a complete roof system assembly complying with criteria specified in Section 07 52 00 MODIFIED

BITUMINOUS MEMBRANE ROOFING, criteria as indicated in the roof manufacturer’s shop drawings and specifications for a 160 mile per hour wind resistance rating and conforming to FM APP GUIDE.

2.6.4 Fasteners for Poured Concrete Decks

Approved hardened fasteners or screws to penetrate deck at least one inch but not more than 1 1/2 inches, conforming to FM 4470, and listed in

FM APP GUIDE for Class I roof deck construction. Quantity and placement to withstand an uplift pressure as indicated for Steel Decks.

2.7 WOOD NAILERS

Pressure-preservative-treated as specified in Section 06 10 00 ROUGH

CARPENTRY.

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION AND PREPARATION

3.1.1 Surface Inspection

Surfaces shall be clean, smooth, and dry. Check roof deck surfaces, including surfaces sloped to roof drains and outlets, for defects before starting work.

The Contractor shall inspect and approve the surfaces immediately before starting installation. Prior to installing insulation, perform the following:

a. Examine steel decks to ensure that panels are properly secured to structural members and to each other and that surfaces of top flanges are flat or slightly convex.

b. Prior to installing any roof system on a concrete deck, conduct a test per ASTM D4263. The deck is acceptable for roof system application when there is no visible moisture on underside of plastic sheet after

24 hours.

3.1.2 Surface Preparation

Correct defects and inaccuracies in roof deck surface to eliminate poor drainage and hollow or low spots and perform the following:

a. Install wood nailers the same thickness as insulation at eaves, edges, curbs, walls, and roof openings for securing cant strips, gravel stops, gutters, and flashing flanges.

b. Cover steel decks with a layer of insulation board of sufficient thickness to span the width of a deck rib opening, and conforming to fire safety requirements. Secure with piercing or self-drilling, self-tapping fasteners of quantity and placement conforming to

FM APP GUIDE. Insulation joints parallel to ribs of deck shall occur on solid bearing surfaces only, not over open ribs.

3.4 INSULATION INSTALLATION

Apply insulation in two layers with staggered joints when total required thickness of insulation exceeds 1/2 inch. Lay insulation so that continuous longitudinal joints are perpendicular to direction of felts for the modified bituminous roofing, as specified in Section 07 52 00, "

MODIFIED BITUMINOUS MEMBRANE ROOFING", and end joints of each course are staggered with those of adjoining courses. When using multiple layers of insulation, joints of each succeeding layer shall be parallel and offset in both directions with respect to layer below.Keep insulation 1/2 inch clear of vertical surfaces penetrating and projecting from roof surface.

3.4.3 Installation Using Only Mechanical Fasteners

Secure total thickness of insulation with penetrating type fasteners.

3.4.4 Special Precautions for Installation of Foam Insulation

3.4.4.1 Polyisocyanurate Insulation

Where polyisocyanurate foam board insulation is provided, install 1/2 inch glass mat gypsum roof board over top surface of foam board insulation.

Stagger joints of insulation with respect to foam board insulation below.

3.4.5 Cant Strips

Where indicated, provide cant strips at intersections of roof with walls, parapets, and curbs extending above roof. Wood cant strips shall bear on and be anchored to wood blocking. Fit cant strips flush against vertical surfaces. Where possible, nail cant strips to adjoining surfaces. Where cant strips are installed against non-nailable materials, install in an approved adhesive.

3.4.6 Tapered Edge Strips

Where indicated, provide edge strips in the right angle formed by junction of roof and wood nailing strips that extend above level of roof. Install edge strips flush against vertical surfaces of wood nailing strips. Where possible, nail edge strips to adjoining surfaces. Where installed against non-nailable materials, install in an approved adhesive.

3.5 PROTECTION

3.5.1 Protection of Applied Insulation

Completely cover each day's installation of insulation with the finished roofing specified in Section 07 52 00 on same day. Do not permit phased construction. Protect open spaces between insulation and parapets or other walls and spaces at curbs, scuttles, and expansion joints, until permanent roofing and flashing are applied. Do not permit storing, walking, wheeling, or trucking directly on insulation or on roofed surfaces. Provide smooth, clean board or plank walkways, runways, and platforms near supports, as necessary, to distribute weight to conform to indicated live load limits of roof construction. Exposed edges of the insulation shall be protected by cutoffs at the end of each work day or whenever precipitation is imminent. Cutoffs shall be 2 layers of bituminous-saturated felt set in plastic bituminous cement. Fill all profile voids in cut-offs to prevent entrapping of moisture into the area below the membrane. Cutoffs shall be removed when work is resumed.

3.5.2 Damaged Work and Materials

Restore work and materials that become damaged during construction to original condition or replace with new materials.

3.6 INSPECTION

The Contractor shall establish and maintain an inspection procedure to assure compliance of the installed roof insulation with the contract requirements. Any work found not to be in compliance with the contract shall be promptly removed and replaced or corrected in an approved manner.

Quality control shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

a. Observation of environmental conditions; number and skill level of

b. Verification of certification, listing or label compliance with FM P9513.

c. Verification of proper storage and handling of insulation materials before, during, and after installation.

d. Inspection of mechanical fasteners; type, number, length, and spacing.

e. Coordination with other materials, cants, sleepers, and nailing strips.

f. Inspection of insulation joint orientation and laps between layers, joint width and bearing of edges of insulation on deck.

g. Installation of cutoffs and proper joining of work on subsequent days.

h. Continuation of complete roofing system installation to cover insulation installed same day.

Vapor Barrier: Minimum two-ply vapor barrier consisting of type II base sheet. Vapor barrier to be installed shingle fashion and adhered in hot bitumen.

Temporary roof: one ply of type II base sheet lapped per manufacturer recommendations with glaze coat.

Tear off to current roofing system to expose substrate.

Minimum two-ply SBS modified bitumen roof membrane consisting of modified bitumen base sheet and cap sheet. Field of modified bitumen base sheet is to be adhered in hot asphalt. Include membrane manufacturer requirements for nailers and backnailing of roof membrane on steep slopes. 1.4 QUALITY ASSURANCE

1.4 QUALIFICATION OF MANUFACTURER

Modified bitumen sheet roofing system manufacturer must have a minimum of 20 years experience in manufacturing modified bitumen roofing products.

1.5 QUALIFICATION OF APPLICATOR

Roofing system applicator must be approved, authorized, or licensed in writing by the modified bitumen sheet roofing system manufacturer.

1.6 QUALIFICATION OF ENGINEER OF RECORD

Engineer of Record must be approved, authorized, and currently licensed by the state of Utah, and have a minimum of five years experience as an approved Engineer for manufacturers of similar roof systems. Engineer of

Record must supply the names and locations of five projects of similar size and scope for which he has provided engineering calculations using the manufacturer's products submitted for this project within the previous three years. Engineer of Record must provide certified engineering calculations for:

Wind uplift requirements in accordance with Local and State codes

ASCE 7-10,in accordance with International Building Code.

ANSI/SPRI ES-1, in accordance with codes

Snow load requirements per ICC IBC Chapter 16 Section 1608.3 and

Section 7 of ASCE 7-10

1.7 FIRE RESISTANCE

Complete roof covering assembly must:

a. Be Class A rated in accordance with ASTM E 108, FM 4470.

b. Be listed as part of Fire-Classified roof deck construction in UL

RMSD, or Class I roof deck construction in FM P7825.

FM or UL approved components of the roof covering assembly must bear the appropriate FM.

1.8 WIND UPLIFT RESISTANCE

Base all wind uplift calculations on a design wind speed in accordance with

ASCE 7-10 building code requirements.

1.9 PREROOFING CONFERENCE

After approval of submittals and before performing roofing and insulation system installation work, hold a preroofing conference to review the

d. Contractor's plan for coordination of the work of the various trades involved in providing the roofing system and other components secured to the roofing

e. Quality control, (ARMA PMBRG98) plan for the roof system installation

f. Safety requirements

Coordinate preroofing conference scheduling with the Contracting Officer.

The conference must be attended by the Contractor, the Contracting Officer's designated personnel, and personnel directly responsible for the installation of roofing and insulation], flashing and sheet metal work, mechanical and electrical work, other trades interfacing with the roof work, designated safety personnel trained to enforce and comply with ASSE/SAFE

A10.24, and representative of the roofing materials manufacturer. Before beginning roofing work, provide a copy of meeting notes and action items to all attending parties. Note action items requiring resolution prior to start of roof work.

1.5 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

1.5.1 Delivery

Deliver materials in manufacturers' original unopened containers and rolls with labels intact and legible. Mark and remove wet or damaged materials from the site. Where materials are covered by a referenced specification, the container must bear the specification number, type, and class, as applicable. Deliver materials in sufficient quantity to allow work to proceed without interruption.

1.5.2 Storage

Protect materials against moisture absorption and contamination or other damage. Avoid crushing or crinkling of roll materials. Store roll materials on end on clean raised platforms or pallets one level high in dry locations with adequate ventilation, such as an enclosed building or closed trailer. Do not store roll materials in buildings under construction until concrete, mortar, and plaster work is finished and dry. Maintain roll materials at temperatures above 50 degrees F for 24 hours immediately before application. Do not store materials outdoors unless approved by the

Contracting Officer. Completely cover felts stored outdoors, on and off roof, with waterproof canvas protective covering. Do not use polyethylene sheet as a covering. Tie covering securely to pallets to make completely weatherproof. Provide sufficient ventilation to prevent condensation. Do not store more materials on roof than can be installed the same day and remove unused materials at end of each days work. Distribute materials temporarily stored on roof to stay within live load limits of the roof construction.

Maintain a minimum distance of 35 foot for all stored flammable materials, including materials covered with shrink wraps, craft paper and/or tarps from all torch/welding applications.

Immediately remove wet, contaminated or otherwise damaged or unsuitable materials from the site. Damaged materials may be marked by the Contracting

Officer.

1.5.3 Handling

Prevent damage to edges and ends of roll materials. Do not install damaged materials in the work. Select and operate material handling equipment to prevent damage to materials or applied roofing.

1.6 ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Do not install roofing system when air temperature is below 40 degrees F, during any form of precipitation, including fog, or when there is ice, frost, moisture, or any other visible dampness on the roof deck. Follow manufacturer's printed instructions for Cold Weather Installation.

1.7 MODIFIED BITUMEN MEMBRANE SAFETY

1.7.1 Property Protection

Take all precautions necessary to prevent ignition of combustible materials during of roofing. Immediately call the fire department if a fire

SECTION 07 52 00 Page 8 commences. Review all fire safety procedures as outlined at the pre-roofing conference.

Provide a minimum of two 2.65 gallon containers of water and two fully charged minimum 20 pound CO2 dry chemical fire extinguishers in separate, easily accessible locations on the roof and within 30 foot<MET>3.048 meters</MET> of each area at all times.

Comply with the following safety procedures:

a. Do not use flammable liquids with a flash point below 100 degrees

F. (gasoline and similar products) for cleaning purposes.

All crew-members must wear correct personal protective equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to the following items:

e. OSHA and ASSE/SAFE Z87.1 approved face shields, goggles and/or safety glasses to be worn during torching and any other applicable roofing functions.

f. OSHA and ANSI approved hard hats.

1.8 SEQUENCING

Coordinate the work with other trades to ensure that components which are to be secured to or stripped into the roofing system are available and that permanent flashing and counter flashing, per NRCA Details, and are installed as the work progresses. Ensure temporary protection measures are in place to preclude moisture intrusion or damage to installed materials.

Coordinate roofing operations with insulation work so that all roof insulation applied each day is covered with roof membrane installation the same day.

1.10 WARRANTY

Provide roof system material and workmanship warranties meeting specified requirements. Provide revision or amendment to standard membrane manufacturer warranty as required to comply with the specified requirements.
