About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for solicitation W912LM26QA010, a Request for Quotation (RFQ) issued by the Department of the Army Minnesota Army National Guard for bulk cubed bagged ice to supply Camp Ripley in Little Falls, Minnesota. The document addresses vendor inquiries regarding operational and specification requirements for this small business set-aside acquisition.
Key clarifications include: the government will provide forklift unloading services, so vendors need not supply equipment for this purpose; the pricing sheet quantity of 5,600 represents 20-pound bags totaling an estimated 112,000 pounds of ice; and 20-pound bags are mandatory—18-pound bags are not acceptable as substitutes, even with adjusted quantities, because the requiring activity receives requests in 1,000-pound increments and smaller bag sizes would create tracking and counting inefficiencies. Vendors responding to this solicitation must adhere to these specifications and operational parameters.

Bulk Ice Questions and Answers 2
Q1. In regards to solicitation W912LM26QA010, I am wondering if a fold lift will be provided or do we need to supply one for unloading?
A1. Our staff will unload with a forklift. None needs to be provided by the vendor.
Q2. On the pricing sheet, it references a quantity of 5,600. Is this the estimated number of 20-pound ice bags required, or does the quantity represent something else?
A2. It is for 20-pound bags at an estimated quantity of 5,600 bags, totaling an estimated 112,000 pounds of ice
Q3. I am currently working with a subcontractor that supplies 18-pound bags of ice. Would this be acceptable for the solicitation if the quantity of bags was adjusted accordingly to meet the total required poundage?
A3. The 20-pound bags are required. The requiring activity receives requests in increments of 1,000 pounds and an 18-pound bag would not track well for math/counting purposes.
