Question and Answers 2
1. How many alarm points are there in the SCIF that require quarterly inspection?
ANS: The alarm points which require inspections are the 14 motion detectors and 2 door contacts.
2. How many alarm points on each of the 32 panels must be reprogrammed?
ANS: The internal account number and the 800 number that the system will use to contact monitoring will be changed during the reprogramming process. The backup cell units will also be reregistered by the new monitoring company.
3. Requesting clarity on the answer to question 3 (Previous Q&A)
Does the Government have the admin codes for each panel to reprogram them, or will the panels be reprogrammed from scratch?
Ans: Both. The Admin Codes are needed to start the programming process but are changed during the programming process to a code selected by the Maryland Electronic Security System
(MDESS) Techs.
Q: Does this mean that the Maryland Electronic Security System Techs already have what the codes are now, or will the monitoring company have to completely reprogram each panel from scratch, including all of the zones, to create new codes?
ANS: The Maryland Electronic Security technicians currently have all the require codes.
