About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers file for a trailer decking lumber solicitation (W912JM25QA013) issued by the Georgia Army National Guard. The Q&A clarifies several key details about the lumber procurement, including that 660 boards are to be priced (despite an initial discrepancy with the SF-1449 form), "green" wood is preferred, and lumber can be sourced from any Georgia small-business sawmill (though Woodpecker Sawmill was suggested as a local option). The solicitation requires white oak lumber in two specific dimensions: 660 boards at 1 1/2" X 5 1/2" X 16" and 726 boards at 1 1/2" X 6 1/2" X 16". Staggered deliveries will be accepted starting on the original deadline date, and all questions and answers will be posted to SAM.GOV with an upcoming solicitation amendment.

Text version

1. What grade of lumber are you looking for the trailer decking? Treated or surfaced?

Common No. 2.

2. Is kiln-dried or “green” wood preferred?

“green” wood is preferred.

3. Will staggered deliveries be accepted starting on the original deadline date and continuing until all material has been furnished?

Yes. See requirements document attached in SAM.

4. SF-1449 shows 600 boards, but Requirements document says 660. Which number should we price?

660 boards. Solicitation will be amended, and questions and answers will be posted to SAM.GOV.

5. Can we buy from any Georgia small-business sawmill or do you want us to use Woodpecker Sawmill?

You can buy from any. The requiring activity just suggested woodpecker since they are local and go pick it up there without worrying about delivery charges.
