About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Mat procurement for the Engineer Research and Development Center Geospatial Science Laboratory (ERDC GSL). The Q&A addresses three key technical specification inquiries from a potential vendor.

The first question confirms that vinyl ester resin can be substituted for the originally specified polyester resin. The second and third questions clarify weight specifications, with the government confirming that panels weighing between 145-150 pounds are acceptable, despite the original specification listing approximately 120 pounds. The document emphasizes that while weight does not have a specified tolerance, other properties with tolerances are detailed in the solicitation document.

Answer 1 – Yes, vinyl ester would be acceptable.

120 pounds per panel.

Answer 3 – No tolerance on the weight. The properties that have a tolerance are listed in the solicitation.
