Question #1 Clarification of " Mowing/ cutting of vegetation ". Please define " Vegetation ".
Does this include Grasses, Brush, Shrubs and Trees and up to what size?
Answer:
Per Section 1.4 “The Contractor shall also be made aware that some areas of the
Containment Area dike system have not been mowed, and at times the vegetation on the dike system may exceed 6’ in height. All areas within the required mowing area as prescribed in the contract are required to be mowed/cut.
Question #2 Clarification of specification. 1. Scope, paragraph 3, page 37 of 112
“The Government reserves the right to exclude all or portions of any of the disposal areas that may be under a separate contract for dike and weir improvements, maintenance and any other work being performed in the disposal area that may impact mowing. Partial mowings of a disposal area will be calculated per the percent of the acreage to be mowed. Once the
Government has determined the amount of acreage for the partial mowing the contractor will be provided the quantity (acreage) for their concurrence.”
Does the Government intend to add and remove percentage of work to bid items when new acres are added and removed from the work areas?
The Specification above is very clear and does not warrant additional answers. Nothing is stated about adding work, partial mowings will exclude a percentage of acreage to be calculated at time of mowing
Question #3 Does the Government intend to use this contract to expand and clear areas that have not been mowed under previous maintenance mowing contracts?
Per Section 1.4 “The Contractor shall also be made aware that some areas of the
