The Government reserves the right to exclude all or portions of any of the disposal areas that may be under a separate contract for dike and weir improvements, maintenance and any other work being performed in the disposal area that may impact mowing. Partial mowings of a disposal area will be calculated per the percent of the acreage to be mowed. Once the Government has determined the amount of acreage for the partial mowing the contractor will be provided the quantity (acreage) for their concurrence.

The period of the contract for the base year is for 12 months after the date of contract award with options for 4 additional years.

Option Year 1: 14 March 2022 – 13 March 2023 Option Year 2: 14 March 2023 – 13 March 2024 Option Year 3: 14 March 2024 – 13 March 2025 Option Year 4: 14 March 2025 – 13 March 2026

Mowing of the top of dikes, slopes, underdrain ramps, access ramps, access shoulders, etc. shall be completed and accepted per containment area unless otherwise directed by the Contracting Officer.

After cutting, vegetation shall have a close uniform height. If the areas are not mowed/cut satisfactorily due to the Contractor’s quality, the Contractor shall re-mow/cut the area at no additional cost to the Government. If damaged, restore the top of dikes, slopes, shoulders, and roads to their original condition. Avoid bird nests. Perform mowing operations to prevent spillage and leakage of fuel, oil, or materials that may contaminate the area. Clean up contamination of the area caused during mowing. The Contractor shall remove any contractor produced solid waste/trash brought on to work sites daily. The Contractor shall transport all solid waste/trash off Government property and dispose in compliance with Federal, State, and local requirements.

Cost for boat use to access bird islands for maintenance is considered incidental to the Contract.
