b. Provide MDP at main electrical room and provide dedicated SDP for each building. Provided feeders from MPD to SPD for each building in EMT conduit, cable installation throughout the facilities must be recessed mounted (under plaster or above ceiling). Replace all wall receptacles and branch circuits.

c. Replace home-run circuit and install safety switch for all existing Split Unit, water pumps and any other existing mechanical equipment.

d. Provide electrical connections and receptacles for all medical equipment.

e. Replace entire existing interior lighting system with LED lighting and controls.

f. Provide a back-up power system using existing generators. Provide MTS for main utility power and ATS for critical building as define above.

g. Provide new electrical TN-S power grounding system.

5.3 DEMOLITION

Disconnect, remove, and dispose of all accessible unused electrical wiring/cabling and equipment involved in this renovation. Remove and dispose all panel equipment, outlets, cabling, lighting fixtures and switches in the renovated space and power for existing air conditioners. Demolition must be minimalized to reduce the amount of wall and ceiling repairs as much as possible. Wires within wall structures that are concrete and not being used for new wire ways may be abandoned in place. Any exposed wire must be demolished. Demolished material must be hauled away and disposed of properly. Demolition must be phased to ensure critical areas of the hospital remain in operation as long as possible and have little down time.

Demolition can be performed after the installation of new distribution system, which would have less impact on the down time. Demolition includes the following and areas defined in this document:

a. Demolish entire interior electrical distribution system to include panels, feeder cabling, branch cabling, outlets, lighting fixtures, switches, home-run circuits to existing A/C, pumps, mechanical equipment, and power to any other hardwired hospital equipment.

5.4 EXTERIOR ELECTRICAL WORK

5.4.1 PRIMARY POWER

Repair existing primary service cable from existing hospital utility transformer pole to terminate in the new Main Distribution Panel (MDP). Service cable must be sized for total capacity of the Hospitals entire sub distribution system plus future load. Size wire appropriately for the load and coordinate with KO and local power company LEC for coordination point.

8-Jun-23 Page 19 of 23

5.4.2 EXTERIOR POWER RECEPTACLES

Exterior weatherproof receptacles must be installed at every door entrance along the building exterior. Exterior weatherproof receptacles must be RCD (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter-GFCI) protected. Most receptacles that are located in corridors of this complex must be considered as exterior.

5.4.3 GROUNDING SYSTEM

Provide a new TN-S grounding system. The potential equalization system to include of the integration of all metal parts of electrical grounding, sanitary, to include metallic cable support systems. Refer to the local Guide for requirements.

The grounding ring material must be 50 mm2 bare copper wire or hot-dip galvanized steel St/tZn (30 x 3.5 mm) buried 800mm deep, 1 meter outside the building foundation with a 16mm diameter x 2.4m copper clad steel ground rod at each corner. The ground resistance must be determined from the soil conductivity, local conditions, and embedded earth electrodes in the foundations. Based upon the dimensions of the facility, the ground resistance must normally not exceed 25 ohms earth transition resistance. In the event that the measured ground resistance exceeds this value, additional ground rods must be provided. Testing must not be done within 48 hours of rain.

Connect the Grounding System to the main grounding (potential equalization) bus bar located in the building Main Electrical room. The grounding system must be connected to all metal surfaces of sanitary, ventilation, heating systems, and electrical systems, to include the metallic cable support systems.

Supply cable system (from Power Source) must be TN-S with division of neutral conductor into neutral conductor and grounding conductor. Facility cable system must be TN-S.

Provide a ground bus bar in Main electrical Room located in the Generator room.

5.4.4 GENERATOR SYSTEM

Provide a back-up power system utilizing the existing 45kVA, 150kVA, and 250kVA generators that are currently in operation. The 45kVA generator must support back up capacity for all emergency and safety systems. The 150kVA generator must provide back-up capacity connected via ATS to all critical areas as defined in section 5.2. The existing two 250kVA generator must provide back-up capacity for utility power supply. Provide main generator system a Manual Transfer Switch (MTS) connection. The intent is to provide an optional generator system for the Hospital during outages and potential fuel shortages. If an outage happens the hospital can maintain all existing generators as needed to keep operations going. If during that time, the hospital experience a fuel shortage, this set-up will provide them the option to power only the critical and emergency generators.

The generator and MTS connected to the Main Distribution Panel (MDP) must be rated as the service entrance for the facility. For facilities with ground fault current protection a four-pole MTS is required.

5.5 INTERIOR POWER SYSTEMS

5.5.1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS MAIN DISTRIBUTION PANEL (MDP)
