About this file
This document contains an amendment to a federal solicitation and details of a related federal contract opportunity. The solicitation amendment removes a draft watermark from an attached form and memorializes a site visit conducted on May 10, 2023, where representatives from various construction firms asked clarifying questions about project requirements such as the size and duration of the needed helper boat.
The federal contract opportunity is to construct a 33-foot diameter sheet pile cell adjacent to the downstream end of the lower guide wall at Lock and Dam No. 4 in Alma, Wisconsin. Scope of work includes demolishing existing structures, concrete and underwater apron repair, and installing a pile-founded tremie-filled concrete end cell with a precast structural wall panel transition. A thermal analysis approval is required prior to concrete placement. If working during navigation season, a helper boat is also needed. The opportunity is a total small business set-aside with an anticipated value between $5-10 million. The solicitation is an invitation for bid administered by the US Army Corps of Engineers St. Paul District.
