About this file

This document is an amendment to a solicitation for the McGregor Lake Habitat Rehabilitation and Enhancement Project. The project involves construction of various sized floodplain forests and berms within the Mississippi River near Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, to improve aquatic and terrestrial habitat. The amendment updates sections of the plans and specifications, changes the bid opening date from August 7 to August 11, 2020 at 2:00 PM, modifies requirements for granular fill placement and berm mixture components testing, and provides clarification on dredge cut depth requirements and an optional field office location. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers St. Paul District is the contracting agency for this project anticipated to be valued between $10 million and $25 million.

The Contractor shall perform the necessary quantity surveys. Payment will only be made for material placed within the neat lines and specified tolerances. Material placed outside the neat lines and specified tolerances will be deducted from payment whether or not the Contracting Officer allows it to remain. Granular fill used as part of the Berm and Floodplain Forest Construction - Berm mixture is not included in this bid item. Granular fill incorporated into the Berm mixture shall be removed from the Berm and Floodplain Forest Construction – Granular Fill quantity assuming 0.45 CY of granular fill per 1.0 CY of Berm mixture placed. Construction Pads are considered incidental to this bid item and will not be measured for payment. CDF berms will not be measured for payment. Construction of CDF berms is incidental to the work, except where the berm materials are incorporated into the Work.
