About this file
This Performance Work Statement (PWS) is a "mock" task order for Vegetation Management in 2025 along the Herbert Hoover Dike (HHD) at Lake Okeechobee, Florida. The primary objective is to perform invasive plant management control efforts within the Central and South Florida Project, specifically targeting reaches 6 and 8 of the HHD. The work involves chemical control of vegetation across 859 total acres (665 acres in Reach 6 and 194 acres in Reach 8), focusing on upland habitats with some small wetland areas. Target invasive species include Brazilian pepper, melaleuca, Australian pine, bamboo, climbing cassia, and lead tree, with treatment methods including basal bark, cut-stump, hack-n-squirt, and foliar applications.
The task order has a one-year performance period and is located in Okeechobee and Glades Counties. The contractor must provide all necessary equipment, including a swamp buggy, UTVs, and/or ATVs, as well as herbicides and adjuvants. Key requirements include maintaining an effective safety program, following USACE safety guidelines, and providing weekly data inputs and bi-weekly work schedules. The contractor must mobilize within seven days of award and work continuously (weather permitting) to systematically cover the entire designated acreage. The Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) will be Angie Huebner, and the Quality Assurance (QA) personnel will be Ian Markovich.
