CESAJ-CD-WM 25 July 2019
MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD
SUBJECT: Solicitation No. W912EP-19-B-0021 Picayune Strand Restoration Project Tram Road, Road Removal and Associated Works, Collier County, Florida Pre-Bid Site Visit
1. A pre-bid site visit was held for subject project on 25 July 2019 at 11:00 am to give the prospective contractors a chance to see the site prior to bids.
2. The list of contractors that attended the site visit is attached.
3. The contractors were advised to write down any questions they may have and submit them via Projnet, as indicated in the solicitation.
4. The site visit consisted of meeting at the parking area located at the intersection of Everglades Boulevard and 52 Avenue Southeast, just north of the staging area indicated on Contract Sheet G-06. At this location, the contractors were welcomed and briefed on the project features, to include the staging area and site access. Prior to commencement of the site visit, the contractors were informed that the visit would consist of driving to the southern limit of the project along Miller Boulevard and making several stops along the way. However, due to the majority of the avenues and tram roads being heavily overgrown and having limited clearance, we would not be traversing down these roads. The contractors were informed that since the area was open to the public, they could further investigate these areas after the conclusion of the site visit or at another time.
5. Once the initial brief was complete, we proceed to drive east along 52 Avenue Southeast then turned south on Miller Boulevard and headed to the beginning of the project at 64th Avenue Southeast. Several stops were made along Miller Boulevard to point out the various types and density of vegetation, material, and ground water conditions that could be experienced within the project limits. We also traversed along 100th Avenue Southeast up to Miller Canal to allow the contractors to see the conditions along one of the avenues, as well as some of the areas along the canal where the stockpiles would be located.
6. From this location, we proceed to the southern limit of the project along Miller Boulevard, 128th Avenue Southeast.
7. This stop concluded the site visit. Prior to adjourning, the contractors were reminded to ensure they read through all of the requirements in the contract, to submit any questions they may have in Projnet, and that they could further investigate the area after the site visit was concluded since the area was open to the public.
