Question asked:
Can you describe the road from Dworshak to the job site for the single wide manufactured home? Is the road wide enough, turns constructed such to allow a 22' truck and 52' home that is 14 wide to be safely delivered?
Answer:
The roads from Headquarters are graveled logging roads, primarily owned/managed by Potlatch Corporation and Idaho Department of Lands. We do not have engineering drawings or specs for them.
These roads are commonly used by logging trucks and low-boys hauling equipment. A typical low-boy trailer is 48' long, while maximum mobile home length is 45' long. Although a low-boy trailer is narrower (8'-6") than the mobile home will be, the equipment it typically hauls (track hoe) is close to 12' wide. The rear axle on a low-boy is at the end of the trailer, and the turns in the roads accommodate these; the rear axle for towing a manufactured building would likely be more towards the center, reducing the necessary turning radius.
The roads are of sufficient width and turning radii to accommodate delivery of a mobile home not larger than 45'x15', per the updated specification.
Example:
A trailer 14'X52'; would be 728 square feet, which does not meet the specification (maximum sq ft 650).
The trailer will need to pass through a gate that is 17' wide.
