AMENDMENT R0001

1. This amendment provides for the following:

a. Government answers to contractor inquiries are provided.

2. Below are answers to inquiries:

Question #1: Shear Booms Section 3.3.2.2.1 of the PWS indicates that there is 42,000 LBF load on each 100 foot section. Would that be a total of 42,000 LBF on each section? That puts a large load on the dolphin connection. Please clarify.

Answer: This is a clarification of paragraph 3.3.2.2.1, there is a design load of 42,000 pounds of force distributed across each 100 foot section of shear boom

Question #2: Is there a load criteria for the flotation of the shear boom or a free board height of the shear boom desired? The 24-inch debris screen is to have how much below water and what amount is desired above water? Please clarify.

Answer: Please refer to paragraph 3.3.2.2.2 for water depths, the shear boom will be designed to withstand those operating water depths. The 24-inch (minimum) debris screen, which is wholly in the water, may rest on the bottom of the channel. The debris screen is not required to extend above the water level. However, the shear boom must be able to allow the functioning of the facility, i.e. direct floating debris along each boom segment.
