About this file

This set of documents includes plans and specifications for a federal contract opportunity to harvest dredged material from Houghtaling Island, located on the Hudson River in New York. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District is soliciting contractors to excavate approximately 362,000 cubic yards of dredged material that has been deposited in containment cell A1 at the Houghtaling Island Dredged Material Placement Site. Contractors will be responsible for construction and operation of material harvesting in accordance with the specifications. Work will be reviewed and approved by the Contracting Officer. The material is to be excavated from the south end of the containment cell and moved north. Slopes of excavated areas cannot exceed 1 vertical to 3 horizontal. Repair of dikes may involve borrowing material from designated areas, with dimensions conforming to the specifications.
