About this file

This solicitation is for maintenance dredging of Cheesequake Creek in New Jersey. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks to dredge approximately 9,000 cubic yards of sediment from the creek to a depth of -5 feet MLLW plus 2 feet of overdepth. The dredged material, estimated to consist of over 98% sand and gravel, must be transported to a suitable approved upland placement site. A mechanical dredge with enclosed bucket is required to minimize environmental impact. Multiple scows and tugboats will be needed for dredging, dewatering, and unloading operations, which are anticipated to take place between July and October 2020. Bids must be submitted online by the deadline. The apparent low bidder will then have 35 days to provide all required permits for dredging, transport, dewatering, placement and disposal of the material. Work must commence within 5 days of notice to proceed and maintain a minimum production rate of 1,000 cubic yards per day to minimize vessel traffic disruption. Liquidated damages of $2,020 per day will be assessed for delays in completing the work, which is estimated to cost between $1,000,000 to $5,000,000.
