2. The following SPECIFICATIONS SECTIONS have been DELETED in their entirety:

None

3. The following SPECIFICATIONS SECTIONS have been REVISED and REISSUED:

None

4. The following SPECIFICATIONS have been REVISED but NOT REISSUED:

- Section 00 73 00 – Special Contract Requirements – add the following sub-paragraph following 1(k): “l. Explosives: Currently there are no explosives materials available at Thule AB. The total capacity of the explosives magazine is 10,000 lb. The contractor shall be responsible for procurement of their explosives and shipment to Thule AB.

Proper and advanced authorization is required from Thule AB BCE, prior to shipment.

Any quantities in excess of magazine storage capacity or without prior written authorization will be rejected and returned at contractor’s expense.”

- Section 32 11 16 – Subbase for Flexible Paving – replace the following sentences in paragraph 3.1“All new subbase material shall be manufactured by the Contractor from quarried and crushed bedrock at the Base Quarry. No other aggregate sources are available to the Contractor. Blasting and crushing of bedrock at the Base Quarry is the responsibility of the Contractor.” with “All new subbase material shall be manufactured by the Contractor from quarried and crushed bedrock at the Base Quarry or at the available locations as outlined in appendix B. Contractor shall be responsible for processing the material to meet the specifications requirements.”

- Section 32 11 23 – Graded-Crushed Aggregate Base Course – replace the following sentences in paragraph 3.2 “All new subbase material shall be manufactured by the Contractor from quarried and crushed bedrock at the Base Quarry.

BIDDER’S QUESTIONS AND GOVERNMENT REPLY

1. Reference is made to drawing no. CD 501 – Note 5 – A portion of the existing subbase course Material shall be reused as shown on replacement sections. (Drawings CP501- 503). On the CP501-503 drawings the note #6 is instructing the contractor to prepare new subbase material in accordance with specification section 32 11 16. In part 2.1.1 use of existing materials would be permitted. However in parts 3.1 it is requested that all new material should come from the Base Quarry. This is in direct conflict with the above mentioned Note 5 on drawing CD 501. Please clarify. Response: Please refer to the revised drawings as issued under this Amendment 0001.

2. Please note the amount of subbase if requested from the Quarry could be too big to manage in the time given in this solicitation. Response: With the possibility of mining the subbase material from other areas at Thule, the government feels that the proposed duration is adequate to complete the work in the specified timeframe. Please refer to Appendix B for possible mining locations.
