About this file
This solicitation is for repair work to the stilling basin at Foster Joseph Sayers Dam in Beech Creek, Pennsylvania. The scope of work includes concrete repairs, installation of a water diversion system, monitoring of water levels and basin movement, and 3D laser scanning of the structure. A temporary fence and signage must be erected around the work and staging areas. Access to the south side of the basin may require a temporary ramp. The contractor must design and construct a water diversion system capable of carrying 700 cubic feet per second and not begin diversion until June 1st due to reservoir regulations. Dam flow shutdowns cannot exceed one hour with 1.5 hours between. Diversion must remain for a minimum of 28 days after concrete placement. Several monitoring points must be established and read hourly during initial dewatering and daily thereafter to detect any movement. The solicitation was issued by the Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Baltimore District.
