AMENDMENT CHANGES

The SOLICITATION is amended as follows:

NOTE: Deleted text is shown with strikethrough. Added text is shown with underline.

1. SPECIFICATIONS:

a. Section 35 41 00 Paragraph No 3.11.2 Landside Ramp Erosion Station 28+00 and Crown and Landside Slope Erosion Station 28+00 to 33+20

The contractor shall repair/restore the levee embankment to same cross section as undamaged sections of existing levee within repair reach per COR direction (approx. 12' crown with 1' vertical on 3' horizontal slopes). Landside access ramp shall be restored to a 1' vertical on 10' horizontal slope, with width of ramp matching the county roadway width. (385 260 CY Fill, 75 CY Excavation, 75 TN Gravel Surfacing, & 0.18 AC Seeding/Mulching)

Borrow for repairs shall be obtained from the impervious borrow locations described for landward levee setback repair at station 33+20 to 43+30, repairs at station 0+00 to 5+00 and 18+25 to 20+25, see Site Maps B-1, B-2 and B-2a.

At landside access ramp repair station 28+00 the contractor shall first remove all gravel surfacing from levee crown crest and landside approach ramp and stockpile nearby. Upon completion of necessary fill placement for repairs, the contractor shall place and spread stockpiled gravel surfacing in an even lift thickness fashion over repaired surface, then place 75 tons of additional "like" gravel surfacing utilized by the Callaway County Road Department in an even lift thickness fashion over the placed/spread salvaged gravel surfacing. Upon completion of all gravel surfacing, the surface area to be traffic compacted with 2 passes of hauling equipment and surface smoothed graded per COR direction.

b. Section 35 41 00 Paragraph No 3.11.3 Landward Levee Setback Station 33+20 to 43+30

Repair consists of constructing an approximate 935-linear-feet long new landward levee setback to a 12-feet crown crest width, 1-foot vertical on 3-feet horizontal slopes, with a 1-foot on 100-feet landside area fill and a 1-foot on 30-feet wide riverside berm, both where necessary (see Drawing C-1). The government shall provide initial centerline staking of the new landward levee setback alignment. The Contractor will be responsible for maintaining and/or replacing centerline staking if damaged. The design grade for levee setback commences at elevation 100.0, sloping upward (ascending) to elevation 101.5 at setback station 5+75, maintaining this elevation grade (E. 101.5) to levee setback station 7+60, then sloping downward (descending) to elevation 100.0 at levee setback ending station 9+35. A smooth radius curve is to be provided at levee setback P.I. (approx.

sta. 4+67) per COR direction. Repair elevations shall be based from hub elevation 100.0 near levee station 32+00. NOTE: Overbuild requirement is not necessary at this repair location, however, grade elevations cannot be exceeded by greater than two tenths of a foot (0.20’). See

Site Map B-2 and Drawings C-1 and C-2. (25,350 CY Fill & 2.03 AC Seeding/Mulching -includes riverside berm)

Random Borrow A: Random borrow for landward levee setback generally consists of sand deposition materials (ranging 6" to 48" in depth), located landward of landward levee setback, generally positioned and as is shown on Site Map B-2. Random borrow deposition materials shall not be removed below former agricultural lands and contoured to drain to slough generally positioned within centermost location of designated borrow area. Contractor to consult COR concerning available depth of random materials and applicable drainage patterns. Random borrow at this location is to be utilized first and completely exhausted, per COR direction, prior to commencement of borrow operations at Random Borrow B location. See Site Map B- 2 and Drawings C-1 and C-2 for levee random fill zone.

Random Borrow B: The contractor shall not commence with borrow operations at this location until such notice is given by COR. Random borrow generally consists of sand deposition materials (ranging 6" to 60" in depth), located landward and south of landward levee setback, generally positioned and as is shown on Site Map B-2. Random borrow deposition materials shall not be removed below the surrounding agricultural lands and removed in such fashion as to not result in depression areas which will hold standing water. Contractor to consult COR concerning available depth of random materials and applicable drainage patterns. See Site Map B-2 and Drawings C-1 and C-2 for levee random fill zone.

Impervious borrow is material resulting from the excavation of a drainage ditch positioned north and alongside County Road 4038, commencing from near existing levee station 27+50 to junction of County Roads 4038 and 4035. Ditch excavation shall commence 5-feet from the north shoulder of County Road 4038, commencing on a 1' vertical on 3' horizontal slope to required ditch depth, maintaining this ditch depth for a width of 10' then commencing on a 1' vertical on 6' horizontal slope. The excavated ditch bottom shall slope (drain) to drainage pipe located within County road 4038. The contractor shall consult with COR on location, depths and drainage patterns of ditch excavation. See Site Map B-2 and Drawings C-1 and C-2 for impervious fill zone.

Available impervious borrow can also be obtained by removing the outer 2-feet of remaining existing levee segments riverward the landward levee setback (approx. sta. 33+20 to 34+80 & 38+50 to 43+30). The "center-most core" of levee segments to be utilized in random fill zone of landward levee setback. Levee segments removed down to existing natural ground surface grade at levee toe lines. In addition, any remaining foreshore area 30 feet riverward of landward levee setback riverside levee toe lines and devoid of timber less-than 3-inches diameter breast height (< 3" DBH), can be utilized within impervious fill zone. All materials to be removed so as to drain away from landward levee setback toe lines, sloping to scour area. See Site Map B-2 and Drawings C-1 and C-2 for impervious fill zone.

Upon exhaustion of all impervious material available at ditch excavation, existing riverward levee segments and associated riverward borrow, the contractor shall obtain borrow from the supplemental impervious borrow area. Supplemental borrow is a small berm which is positioned north alongside County Road 4035 and is as shown on Site Map B-2a. The contractor shall commence borrow operations at the westernmost end and proceed east by removing material in even 6-inch cut fashion throughout entire designated reach, with succeeding 6-inch cuts being made after initial 6-inch cut has been conducted, resulting in a widened flat crown crest. This sequence of borrowing operations to continue until sufficient material has been obtained to complete required necessary impervious fill zone and/or a 3-feet layer of material has been obtained/removed. Maximum depth of borrow removal is 3-feet. See Site Map B-2a and Drawing C-1 and C-2 for impervious fill zone.

Contractor shall consult with COR on exact location of property line between the Forck and Beck properties. No random borrow shall be obtained/removed from the Forck property.

Random borrow generally consists of sand deposition materials (ranging 6” to 60” in depth), located entirely on the Beck property which is landward and south of landward levee setback and is within cross-hatched area generally positioned as is shown on Site Map B-2 (approx. 12.7 total AC). Random borrow deposition materials shall not be removed below the surrounding agricultural lands and removed in such fashion as to not result in depression areas which will hold/retain standing water. Contractor shall consult COR concerning available depth of random materials and applicable drainage patterns. Should additional random borrow become necessary to complete random fill zone as shown on Drawings C-1 and C-2 the contractor shall degrade and remove the Sponsor constructed temporary flood protection berm located on the Beck property only. Temporary flood protection berm to be removed down to surrounding natural ground contours found at respective toe lines. The contractor shall completely exhaust all available random borrow from within cross-hatched area, per COR direction, prior to usage of temporary flood protection berm borrow. See Site Map B-2 and Drawings C-1 and C-2 for random fill zones.

Impervious borrow for riverside levee and levee berm slopes, along with berm crown crest, shall be obtained and utilized from the three cross-hatched areas positioned riverward the landward levee setback located on the Forck property. The contractor shall excavate and remove the two existing levee segments outside limits of the new landward levee setback design lines down to natural ground found at the existing levee riverside toe line from approximate stations 33+20 to 34+80 and 38+50 to 43+30 and commence placement of this material onto the riverside berm slope, proceeding up slope until this borrow material is exhausted. Upon exhaustion of existing levee segments borrow degrading, remaining impervious borrow is any remaining foreshore area 30-feet riverward of landward levee setback riverside levee toe line and devoid of timber less-than 3-inches diameter breast height (<3” DBH) and is within cross-hatched areas shown on Site Map B-2 (1.2 & 0.2 AC sites). Borrow from designated areas shall be utilized to maximum depth possible, with drainage away from landward levee setback riverside toe line and into scour feature.

Impervious borrow for remainder of landward levee setback shall be obtained from material resulting from the excavation of two separate drainage ditches positioned north and alongside County Road 4038. Westernmost drainage ditch commences from near existing levee station 27+50 to intersection of a field service road and easternmost drainage ditch commences from intersection of same field service road to near junction of County roads 4038 and 4035 (see Site Map B-2). Ditch excavations shall commence 5-feet from the north shoulder of County road 4038, commencing on a 1’ vertical on 3’ horizontal slope to required ditch depth, maintaining this ditch depth for a width of 10-feet then commencing on a 1’ vertical on 6’ horizontal slope to “day-light-out” with the natural ground surface. The excavated ditch bottoms shall slope (drain) to yet to be determined designated drainage pipe locations within County Road 4038. Drainage pipes within County Road 4038 to be installed by others. The contractor shall consult with COR on location, depths and drainage patterns of ditch excavations. Upon completion/exhaustion of excavated material from drainage ditch excavations additional impervious borrow shall be obtained from the supplemental impervious borrow area shown on Site Map B-2a. Supplemental borrow is a small berm which is positioned north alongside County Road 4035 and is positioned within cross-hatched area generally as shown on Site Map B-2a. The contractor shall commence borrow operations at the westernmost end and proceed east by removing material in even 6-inch cut fashion throughout entire designated reach, with succeeding 6-inch cuts being made after initial 6-inch cut has been conducted, resulting in a widened flat crown crest. This sequence of borrowing operations to continue until sufficient material has been obtained to complete necessary impervious fill zones and/or a 3-feet layer of material has been obtained/removed. Maximum depth of supplemental borrow removal is 3-feet. See Site Maps B-2, B-2a and Drawings C-1 and C-2 for impervious fill zones.
