Solicitation Number W912D0-21-Q-0169
Request for Information (RFI) (18 Nov 2020)
Q1: I have a question about the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation posted under solicitation number W912D021Q0169. I am hoping to find out if there is an incumbent contractor currently performing these services, if similar services have been performed in the past, or if this is a new requirement. If this is a follow-on requirement, could you please provide the previous contract or task order number?
A1: This service is currently being provided under Contract number W912D0-16-D-0003 and the Contractor that is performing is VETERAN ABILITY, LLC. The current task order number is W912D0-20-F-0057.
Q2: Is the site visit mandatory? During each snow event that requires snow and ice removal, are we required to put salt down as well on the sidewalks?
A2: The site visit is not mandatory. You are not required to put salt down but in accordance with (IAW) the PWS 5.1.2 “All sidewalks shall remain clear of ice to 36" width and from sidewalk edge to sidewalk edge (curb/gutter/edge) to include between head bolt/light poles." However you can accomplish this is up to the Contractor as long as “COR shall approve the use of ice melting chemicals or products used at the Child Care Facilities. Contractor shall follow manufacture recommendations in order to prevent damage to concrete sidewalks and lawns.”
Request for Information (RFI) (25 Nov 2020)
Q3: Does the contract start on January 22, 2021?
A3: Yes
Q4: Square footage for mowing stated on the maps is a total of 356,063 SF. Appendix A Workload Data states mowing is a total of 284,548 SF. Which number is correct?
A4: The maps were verified in July; the workload data sheet requires update. (356,063). See Appendix A 25 NOV 2020 (Amendment).
Q5: The Workload Data expresses the sidewalk area in SF. sidewalks are generally listed in linear feet. Is the SF correct or should it be linear ft. (LF)?
A5: Square Feet is correct.
Q6: Are there any facilities available on base for the contractors to use to store equipment or materials?
A6: No
Q7: Paragraphs 5.1 and 5.1.1 both state that the snow removed from the sidewalks does not have to be moved until it reaches a height of 3 ½ feet. Then it must be moved to designated accumulation points. No accumulation points are identified in the PWS or on the maps. Are these sites nearby or at the Child/Youth Services facility site itself?
A7: Accumulation points will be identified and coordinated at the time of action so other can further remove it from the area. Accumulation points will be in proximity to each facility.
Q8: Para 5.1.3 states that sand barrels must be maintained ¾ full of loose sand. Can aggregate be substituted for sand?
A8: Sand and or small-chipped aggregate commonly used for this application would be acceptable.
