Questions (Q) and Answers (A)

Q1: Is the Fort Wainwright landfill available to use as a disposal site for this contract?

A1: NO All waste will be taken to Landfill in Fairbanks.

Q2: What kind of waste is being hauled (household waste, food waste, construction/demolition debris, etc.)?

A2: Will be mixed packing material, wood, metal, cardboard, and paper.

Q3: Are the Landfill Disposal fees paid directly to that landfill?

A3: All tipping fees are included in the contract and the vendor pays those fees.

Q3a: Can you clarify your response to question #3? There are no instructions or comments in the Statement Of Work regarding landfill disposal volume or costs or what fees the contractor would be responsible for. In order to effectively add disposal fees into the pricing, can you provide anticipated weight per container? Without having any disposal volume data, It makes accurate calculations very difficult.

A3a: I do not know how many tons a 40yd dumpster can hold so I cannot give and answer to this question. They can go on the internet and inquire to the local landfill and get an accurate price per ton. This is the best answer I can give to this question. Again we do not weight the dumpsters at any time during the contract period and do not keep any of this information on record.

Q4: These are to be open top Dumpsters?

A4: Yes

Q5: Will dumpster service be on a regular schedule for tipping or will they be on call?

A5: All dumpsters will be on a on call status.

Q6: Do you have any historical data showing tonnage amounts per haul for the dumpsters currently on site? If there are none currently on site, is there an estimated weight per haul? Tonnage is very important, as it is a variable cost and I do not want to overbid or underbid the contract.

A6:

Q7: The original Statement of Requirement indicated there would be 263 MAXIMUM hauls per year. The Revised Statement of Requirement is not straight forward. For Building 3030, it indicates there is a maximum quantity of 2 dumpsters and total hauls reads as once a month. Is that total hauls per dumpster or total hauls per site? If it is total hauls per site, there would be 19 hauls MAXIMUM per year. If it is total hauls per dumpster, there would be 53 hauls MAXIMUM per year. Both of those numbers are vastly smaller than my original calculation of 263 hauls MAXIMUM per year.

A6:
