QUESTIONS AND RESPONSES #2
QUESTION GOVERNMENT RESPONSE
Line item 0028 - What size chem curbs are required? Can go from 4” to unlimited size with straight and corner accessories.
Up to 7.5" round curb.
Line item 0041, 0043 – EPS & Polyiso is difficult to price out per square foot. Would be easier to price out using cubic feet.
Different heights for different lengths, pitch requirements and starting heights.
Unit is board feet which is also a unit of volume.
Line item 0032 – Building code looks to require installation of solid sheathing when replacing a tile roof. Should we include cost to resheath?
Do not resheath the entire roof. CLIN 25 can be used if needed for damaged portions.
Line item 0033 – Depending on condition of the existing tiles, installation of clear coat would cause broken tiles. Depending on profile of the tile, method of securing, and age it adds to factoring in how much will require replacement. This one could turn into a disaster. No way we can guess if existing tiles are already brittle, Already leaking? We can go in and clean tiles and get nailed for leaks and breakage due to our men accessing the roof. How do you suggest we approach this
CLIN?
This CLIN will only be applied to newly installed tiles. Each task order should have the same quantities of CLIN 32 and 33.
Line item 0037 (/0038) – Gravel roofs – Often times there are multiple layers on these
CLIN includes 3-6 layers. Removal of a typical roofing system.
types of roofs. Are we pricing out a single layer?
Line item 0044 – What is the required DFT?
Or gallons per square? We found the gallons per square and mils for the Silicone coating but not the Acrylic coating
The DFT varies for different substrates.
Complete manufacturer’s instructions are available online. Foundation Coat Application Rate: 1.00-1.50 gal per 100 ft2 (4.08 - 6.11 L/10 m2) per coat. Finish Coat Application Rate: 0.75-1.50 gal per 100 ft2 (3.05 - 6.11 L/10 m2) per coat.
We are wondering how to determine the building location of each CLIN.
In regards to the basic contract, the CLINs do not have specific building location. The location will be identified with the individual task orders. The Government has provided estimated quantities, which are based on anticipated need for various Army installations.
