About this file

This document contains an amendment to a solicitation for maintenance dredging services along the Delaware River and Fairless Turning Basin. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, intends to award a firm fixed price contract to remove approximately 500,000 cubic yards of sediment from the main navigation channel between mile markers 97.0 and 123.7, as well as within the Fairless Turning Basin. There is an option to dredge an additional area between mile markers 123.7 and 124.7. Hydraulic dredging will be used with disposal of materials at the Biles Island Disposal Area. The base contract requires dredging to a depth of 41 feet below mean lower low water plus one foot of overdepth allowance. The optional area would be dredged to a depth of 25 feet below mean lower low water plus one foot of overdepth allowance. The base performance period is 120 calendar days from notice to proceed, with an additional 30 days if the option is exercised. Actual dredging must commence within 10 days of notice to proceed and all river dredging must be completed between July 1 and December 31, with basin dredging ending by March 15 due to environmental restrictions.
