About this file

This document contains an amendment to a solicitation and the related federal contract opportunity. The amendment adds a bid guarantee clause requiring an offeror to submit a bid guarantee of 20% of the bid price or $3 million, whichever is less.

The federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the US Army Corps of Engineers to acquire two new tug boats for operations on the Great Lakes. The tug boats must be between 65-80 feet in length, have a minimum 1,600 brake horsepower, and be capable of breaking ice up to 12 inches thick. Additional requirements include accommodations for a crew of six, twin screw propulsion, and ABS and USCG certification. The successful contractor will fabricate and deliver the tug boats to Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, with liquidated damages for late delivery. The solicitation is set aside for commercial item acquisition pursuant to FAR Part 12, and registrations in the System for Award Management and VetBiz Vendor Information Pages are required to be eligible to respond.
