See Spec Section 09 90 00 Para 1.9.1.1.c. Paint for flooring shall be as specified in Section 09 67 23
STANDARD RESINOUS FLOORING.
Drawing S‐101 says to Pour new concrete to raise slab to level floor. Are the dimensions of this area to be leveled known?
See plan Sheet S‐101. Dimension of area to be raised with new concrete slab to meet adjacent floor is approximately 9'‐0" x 21'‐7". Area of existing floor to be leveled with self‐leveling cementitous underlayment material is approximately 45'‐9" x 21'‐7".
Section 09 67 23 ‐Standard Resinous Flooring references epoxy binder, polyurethane surface sealer, finished epoxy floor, and heavy duty epoxy flooring systems yet the drawings only indicate an epoxy bonding agent.
Please clarify the following:
a. Is there a resinous system to be installed on the finish floor?
b. If so, please provide detailed specifications to ioutline type and system requirement (number of coats, mils, finish, etc.)
c. And, provide updated drawings to show areas receiving such a system.
See Spec Section 09 90 00 Para 1.9.1.1.c. Paint for flooring shall be as specified in Section 09 67 23
STANDARD RESINOUS FLOORING. See Plan Sheet S‐101.
Entire area of floor, except as noted, shall be coated with resinous flooring system. The epoxy bonding agent referenced on the plans refers to the bonding agent used with concrete repairs as specified in Spec Section 03 01
30.
Project documents call for patching above the existing embedded metal rails. From previous experience, such repairs will crack and spall with any level of material/equipment movement over the surface. We would highly recommend removing the rails completely to avoid such damage.
Will the Government approve of this long‐term solution in lieu of the existing requirements?
The rails will not be removed. Repairs include patching spalled areas adjacent to rails and where portions of rail are missing. Refer to details 1 through 4 on sheet S‐501 and Photo 3 on S‐504.
Contract documents, plans, do not truly represent existing condition in reference to column line C and egress door located on the South side.
Differemce is shown between page S‐101 and S‐102. Will this decrepancy affect the dimension of the “Area of Damaged Concrete” shown on page S‐101.
The correct door location is shown on sheet S‐102. This will not affect the dimension of the area of damaged concrete shown on sheet S‐101.
Please acknowledge the requirement of key personnel to include
Project Engineer, Superintendent, QC Manager, Safety Technician and
Office Engineer as listed on page 5 Section 00 50 05 of the
Specifications.
Pre Award Survey is to be completed by the apparent low bid only or, if the low bid is found to be non‐responsive or not responsible, then to the next lowest bid only.
Will the project due date be extended to allow for proper review and adjustment to RFI answers?
Extension is not anticipated. Plan for bid opening on 12
