The specification will be revised to allow chutes made of aluminum or aluminum alloy, but only if they are lined with heavy-duty, plastic (i.e., high density polyethylene) liners specifically manufactured to fit in the aluminum chutes proposed for use.
Aluminum chutes having plastic liners that are excessively worn, damaged or defective in any way, poorly-fitting, or any other
Requests For Information and Responses Page 9 unsatisfactory condition as determined by the Government or the Contractor shall not be used until the chute is refitted with a satisfactory replacement plastic liner. See Amendment No. 0005.
Specification 26 32 15.00 10 Diesel-Generator Set Section 2.11 Emissions is calling for Tier 3 EPA but the listed generator manufacturers provide a Tier 2. Please clarify?
Provide a Tier 3 EPA generator as indicated in the specification. Several manufactures provide them at 300 kW.
Specification 26 32 15.00 10 Diesel-Generator Set Section 2.12.3.1 Battery, is the NiCad Battery System to be provided or can a standard lead acid battery system be provided?
NiCad batteries shall be provided for the Diesel-Generator Set as indicated in the specification.
Please provide specifications and/or drawing details for the Transfer Switch?
No transfer switch is required. Power transfer is achieved via keyed interlock located in the Main Distribution Switchboard as shown on sheet EP601.
On drawing P-702WB DDC System, General, Note 7 indicates "The DDC System shall be capable of data logging this information and reporting to the EMCS." What system is the base using for this EMCS system and does the base have a preferred vendor that maintains and operates the system? Please clarify?
Review Sheet P-704WB.
Amendment 002 added section 33 52 80 Liquid Fuels Pipeline Coating Systems, paragraph
2.1.2 requires the coating manufacturer to certify that the pipe coating system is suitable for immersion in aviation fuel. The AWWA C213 coating is an American Water Works Association specification and the manufacturers that we have found will not provide a certification for immersion in aviation fuel. Please advise if this requirement can be removed from the specification or provide the name of an AWWA C213 coating manufacturer that will comply with this requirement?
Specification 33 52 80 has been deleted by amendment. See Amendment No. 0005.
Would the Government consider maintaining the original carbon steel exterior coating specification, 33 52 43.13,2.14 as the revised interior carbon steel pipe interior coating is a much more expensive system, the coating system costs more, the applicator must be certified for this system and a QP5 inspector be present during application of the field coating at the pipe welds and fittings? Request that the original OD and ID coating specification for the carbon steel pipe (33 52 43.13) be maintained
Section 33 52 43.13 will be revised by amendment to clarify coating requirements.
Paragraph 2.1.1.1 will be reinstated requiring MIL-PRF-4556 for the internal coating of Carbon Steel piping. MIL-PRF-4556 is in the process of being reinstated by the Government. Paragraph 2.1.4 has been updated to allow AWWA C215 for the external coating of Carbon Steel Piping. See Amendment No. 0005.
Requests For Information and Responses Page 10
Amendment 002 changed specification 33 52 43.13, 2.1.4 for the OD coating from AWWA C215 to AWWA C215 Type B. The application of the AWWA C215 Type B coating system to stainless steel pipe will require the coater to deviate from the AWWA specification. Will the Government consider deviations to the AWWA application procedures dictated by the use of the AWWA C215 Type C coating system on stainless steel pipe?
Section 33 52 43.13 will be revised by amendment to clarify coating requirements.
The AWWA C213, Type B Requirement has been removed and paragraph 2.14 has been revised. See Amendment No. 0005.
By amendment 002, specification 32 13 11 paragraph 2.10.2.e, the following was added: A truck mixer may be used either for complete mixing (truck mixed;a.k.a., transit-mixed).
However paragraph 2.10.1.b still requires "The batching and mixing plan to be a stationary-type central mix plant...". If truck mixers are used to completely mix the concrete the concrete batching plant will be a dry mix plant as is available from local concrete producers located off base. Please confirm that a dry batch plant will be acceptable if truck mixers are used as allowed by amendment 002.
Yes. A dry batch plant will be acceptable if truck mixers are used as allowed by Amendment No. 002 and further clarified in Amendment No. 005. Specification paragraph 2.10.1.b has been revised by amendment accordingly. See Amendment No.
0005.
Specification 01 11 05,1.14 states in part, "As outlined in FAR Clause "52.236-14 Availability and Use of Utility Services"...will be charged to the Contractor at prevailing rates prescribed in the FAR...". FAR 52.236-14 is not included in the specifications. Please provide this FAR and the prescribed utility rates to be used for this project
Specification 01 11 05, para 1.14 has been revised by amendment accordingly. See Amendment No. 0005.
This amendment deletes the requirement for an Aluminum roof panel. However, in the revised specs in Section 13 34 19 Page 10 para 1.4.7 it still references Section 07 61 15.00 20
ALUMINUM STANDING SEAM ROOFING
as the required roof system. This should have been revised to 07 61 14.00 20 STEEL STANDING SEAM ROOFING. Section 1.4.6 Roof System still implies "Provide manufacturer's standard trapezoidal-rib standing seam metal roof panels. As specified in Section 07 61 15.00 20 Aluminum Standing Seam Roofing." Clarify the last sentence should be removed from the specifications?
Section 13 34 19 has been revised by amendment to remove the reference to the Aluminum Roofing Spec. See Amendment No. 0005.
By amendment 002, specification 32 13 11 paragraph 2.10.2.e, the following was added: A truck mixer may be used either for complete mixing (truck mixed; a.k.a., transit-mixed).
However paragraph 2.10.1.b still requires "The

FAR 52.236-14 is not included in the specifications. Please provide this FAR and the prescribed utility rates to be used for this project.
Specification 01 11 05, para 1.14 has been revised by amendment accordingly. See Amendment No. 0005.
Specification 33 16 15 Water Storage Steel Taks Paragraph 2.1.5.4 Altitude Valve and paragraph 2.1.6 Pressure Gauge addresses equipment that is not shown on the drawings, and could not be used given that the piping enter the tanks form the underside as indicated on sheet SS101 Water Storage Tank Foundation Plan and Details. Paragraph 2.1.5.4 indicates that the valve is used to control tank water level. Please confirm that the prior note items are not utilized, or otherwise clarify.
Sheets P-110WB and P-211WB has been revised by amendment to clarify. Altitude valve will be located in the pumphouse, with sensing lines to the tanks.
What is the intended brand/model number of penthouse on the roof of the pumphouse (sheet A-141 and MH101)? More specifically—what are its dimensions (for the roof opening) and its weight?
Penthouse dimensions are indicated on MH101; roof opening as indicated is 42”x42”.
Weight will be dependent on the brand/model selected by the contractor in conformance with the requirements. The basis of design was a Greenheck WIH, which weighs 131 lbs.
Drawings A-141, A-401, & A-431WB & A- 432WB seem confused with what R-value the rigid insulation is supposed to be in the roofs (some say R-19; some say R-20). Which is actually required?
Requirement is R-19 rigid insulation for both buildings.
Is there a specific gauge/profile deck to be used for the roofs of both proposed buildings (e.g., roof detail at eave, on A-431WB)?
Required gauge/profile for the deck shall be as determined by the pre-engineered metal building designer.
Per note 1 on sheet SB102WB—should we use the section shown on sheet P-210WB to calculate the (plumbing) heights needed for the requested vertical plumbing supports?
Required heights are shown on P-110WB, P- 111WB and P-210WB. Heights for other piping/equipment not specifically called out can be set by scale or as necessary in the field.
What is the purpose of the “pourable sealant” shown in roof cap detail on sheet A-721 in dwgs?
Sealant is to seal the air terminal base, as required by the air terminal or roofing manufacturer.
Per sheet S-001 in dwgs—the internal pressure coefficients of the metal building system are shown to be +/- 0.55. What factors or
The pump shelter is classified as enclosed building to the definitions for open and partially enclosed in Section 26.2 of ASCE 7-
Requests For Information and Responses Page 12 conditions are anticipated for these coefficients? Or will the coefficients used for the control room (+/- 0.18) be sufficient?
10. The designer chose to be conservative and assume that the pump shelter is partially enclosed due to the importance of the structure and unpredictable effects that the masonry control room will have on the wind loads. The metal building system designer shall utilize +/- 0.55 as indicated on S-001.
