W9128F23Q0015 – ADR Tank Inspection

Last Updated: 1/5/2023

1) For the internal inspection on Tank 9 Facility 3039, do you have any pictures/reports we can see to understand where the access points are and what size they are?

Answer: There are 3 manways. 1 above the pan. The manhole sizes are 3 ft.

2) Is there a previous inspection report(s) that can be provided for Tank 9 (Facility 3039) at JB

Andrews, MD (ADR)?

Answer: The base doesn’t have any external or internal inspection reports on this facility since it was built approximately 10+ years ago.

3) Could you also have the Project Manager clarify the amount of fuel for removal/disposal?

Attachment B states 200 gallons while CLIN 0008 states “NTE 2000 gallons”.

Answer: Disposal of up to 200 gallons of remaining fuel which is in the sump (Option not to be exercised unless exceeding the 200 gallons stated on Attch B)

4) Will the fuel in tank 9 – 3039 be transferred prior to the cleaning or would the contractor need to transfer the fuel into temporary fuel storage on-site?

Answer: Fuel from Fac 3039 will be transferred by base personnel with only the remaining fuel left in sump to be disposed of by contractor

5) If the contractor is to perform the fuel transfer is there a volume that we should assume to transfer and store on-site? This would involve mobilizing 21K-Gallon temporary storage tanks and berms to the site and based on total estimated volume we would need to make sure there is enough space for staging.

Answer: Base personnel will perform fuel transfer so on-site fuel storage by contractor is not needed.

6) What diameter and type of fitting would be used to perform the transfer? (example: 2”, 3”, 4”

Diameter – Victaulic, Camlock or Threaded Fitting)

Answer: Fuel transfer not required.

7) Is there any ability to request an extension on due date?

Answer: No additional extension to be made on due date
