Question:
I had reviewed the PWS and that is where my question originated. What I am trying to get more information on is if the task of cleaning the tanks is a requirement in and of itself or if the customer is only stating that the tank must be cleaned because they believe it is required in order to perform the internal inspection. With our method of inspecting and the fact that the fuel can stay in the tank we can skip that cleaning step.
Answer:
Yes, cleaning is a requirement as these tanks only go out of service every 20 years. Cleaning has to be completed in accordance with UFGS 33 01 50.
