Comment Classification: Unclassified\\For Official Use Only (U\\FOUO)
Specification Section 02 82 14.00 25 asbestos abatement work pertains to the second powerhouse. The submittal register has an extensive list of submittals associated with this section.
3.2A "Sampling is not required by the government as presumed asbestos containing material (PACM) has been identified."
Sections 01 11 00.02 25 Summary of work and section 01 22 00.00 25 Measurement and payment have no provisions for or make no mention of removal and handling of ACM or PACM.
Is removal and disposal of ACM or PACM to be included in the price proposal? If so, how might the contractors quantify the amount of work?
If the removal is not included in the price proposal, should the contractor include the cost to develop the sampling and removal plans as listed on the submittal register as a contingent situation in the event ACM/PACM is encountered?
On: Oct 22 2019.
Requires Amendment.

In reading the monorail specifications, the new track system supports for BN1 are to be installed in the existing overhead concrete slab. Is it acceptable to propose a pre-engineered free standing monorail system or an engineered monorail system supported from the existing concrete walls? Concerns have been expressed by a few manufacturers/fabricators about supporting the new track system overhead from a liability standpoint if by accident the monorail is overloaded and the existing concrete slab fails.
In addition, there's a statement that reads "Provide patented track beam sections fabricated by a manufacturer regularly engaged in production of this type of beam". Can you elaborate further on the USACE's intention behind this statement. The way the statement reads has a number of local fabricators unable to propose on the new monorail system.

ProjNet: Logged In User Page 13 of
1-0 Evaluation Non-concurred. Wherever possible use multiconductor cables to save space.
Power cables: single conductors would be used only for a good reason, for example if the multiconductor cable wouldn't fit through part of its run.
These are not all power cables on E1001, some of them are control cables: 1FSCP-u1-MT, 1FSCP-u1-FA.
For control cable, having multi-conductor cables is essential to keep color coding of the individual conductors the same end to end. By: Jonas Parker; Hydroelectric Design Center; (503-808-5259) On:

Specification 212200.01/.02-26, Section 2.3.4 is the section that describes the Fire Suppression Control Panel but there is no reference or verbiage to indicate these panels are to be equipped with equipment such as amplifiers, voice generator or that they are to generate voice messages or hold voice messages. Section 2.3.7.1 indicates the audible devices are to be speakers. The device legend shows "Clean Agent Multi-Tone Speaker/Clear Strobe" as the symbol type of an audible device. Speakers, as compared to horns, are devices that require amplifiers and voice signal transmission equipment be provided so voice messages can be transmitted through the speaker into a space.
Horns do not have the ability to transmit voice messages. Previous answer to a question clearly stated the only control panels to be provided as part of these specifications referenced will be the Fire Suppression Control Panels for each Powerhouse. Please confirm if the Fire Suppression Control Panel as provided under the above referenced sections is to have the ability to transmit voice messages through the "Clean Agent Multi-Tone Speaker/Clear Strobe" device that is shown on the drawings to be connected to this panel.

Section 2.3.4 of 212200 (.01 & .02)indicates that all supervision and control of the fire suppression system is to be routed through the facility fire alarm panel. Detail A1 on drawing FA1001 clearly shows a Fire Suppression Control Panel directly supervising and controlling all aspects of detection and control of the clean agent system for the room, and the only connection of the Fire Suppression Control Panel with the Building Fire Alarm Panel is having the Building Fire Alarm Panel monitor the FSCP for Alarm, Trouble and Supervisory alarm only .
There is no control shown from the Building Fire Alarm Panel to the Fire Suppression Control Panel.
