Drawout Bypass Isolation
Automatic transfer switches Contactor-based switches Dual drawout bypass isolation Open/closed transition
Bypass isolation switch features
Front access
Front access is a standard fea-ture. Source 1 (NORMAL) and Load connections are set up as standard top entry and Source 2 (EMERGENCY) connections as bottom entry. These connections are located in their own separate compartments. These connections can be relocated in the field if necessary.
Multi-tap transformer
The industry-exclusive multi-tap system voltage selector allows the transfer switch to be applied on most system voltages by proper insertion of the selector plug.
Dual drawout ATS and bypass contactor
The ATS and the bypass drawout power contactor designs are identical and interchangeable.
This standard feature allows the user the ability to withdraw, maintain or swap contactor assemblies, providing redundancy of ATS and bypass functions from one contactor assembly to the other of a similar frame size.
Improved safety
The unique Eaton design includes separation between control and power components.
The ATS and bypass isolation contactors are mounted in separate compartments with protective barriers between them. This design prevents the possibility of contact with the rear-mounted power connections to the contactors.
In addition, the top and bottom entries have separate compartment doors.
Ease of maintenance
Transfer to the bypass power contactor is easily initiated and controlled via door-mounted controls. After the transfer to the bypass contactor is complete, the ATS contactor is easily racked out with the compartment door closed.
The ATS contactor may then be tested in the racked-out position.
Ease of transfer
The Eaton design allows the operator to make a quick and simple transfer from the ATS power contactor to the bypass contactor by initiating the electrically operated transfer via a two-position switch.
Door-mounted indicating lights confirm that a successful transfer has taken place.
Dual ATS capability
The controller on conventional bypass isolation switches only controls the ATS contactor. The Eaton design allows the switch controller to remain active in both the ATS and the bypass modes, thus providing control to either contactor.
This ability of the controller to remain active and control the bypass isolation contactor provides ”N+1” redundancy of a second fully functioning ATS, a feature unique to Eaton.

Innovative design, smart bus technology, and simple installation
I-Line Panelboards
I-Line Breakers
Main Lugs: Fixed-mounted main lugs are isolated from the branch breaker section for enhanced safety. Lugs are front-removable for ease of wiring.
Plug-on main lugs mount in the branch circuit area.
Main Breakers: A screwdriver is all that’s required, making installation faster and easier. Main lug interiors may be converted to main breaker interiors by simply back feeding a branch-mounted device.
All I-Line™ circuit breakers are UL® Listed for use as a branch or back feed main device.
Branch Breakers: I-Line breakers mount independently of other breakers on the interior.
This design offers greater flexibility in breaker placement and future scalability. The modular I-Line panelboard permits branches to be mounted anywhere on the bus stack without restriction unlike a conventional panelboard design.
Breaker Connections
I-Line breaker connections are “blow-on” type, similar to medium voltage equipment designs.
The magnetic forces developed from high-level fault conditions force the jaws together, resulting in a firmer, more secure grip on the bus bar for improving uptime. Heavy-duty jaw connectors are plated to ensure good conductivity at the contact.
Breaker Mounting
A screwdriver is all that’s needed to mount 15 A through 1,200 A I-Line circuit breakers.
Breakers ratchet firmly onto the bus stack.
Captive retaining screws secure the circuit breaker to the mounting pan.
Smart: designed for efficient installation
The Square D™ I-Line panelboards are the most versatile and innovative on the market, offering the unique I-Line Plug-In Connection, with efficient installation design and outstanding communication capabilities.
Simple: Efficient Installation Process
Delivery that Works for You I-Line panelboards are available custom assembled at the factory or ready to install from local distributor stock. Either way, you get the same time-proven design in a complete line of boxes, interiors, fronts, breakers, and accessories on hand when you need them.
For even faster service, the LASER Quick Shipment program delivers on-site in three, five, or 10 days
Available with main lugs or main breakers through 1,200 A
Rated 600 Vac and 250 Vdc maximum
UL Listed SCCR, suitable for use on systems up to 200,000 RMS symmetrical amps, when assembled with appropriately rated main or branch breakers
Cabinets
Panelboard boxes are constructed of code gauge steel with wiring gutters in accordance with UL and NEMA® standards. Boxes are made of galvanized steel in varying widths to fit your electrical needs. All box sizes have removable end walls.
I-Line panelboard fronts are finished with gray baked enamel electrodeposited over clean phosphatized steel. Fronts are attached to the box with trim screws.
Solid Neutral The solid neutral assembly mounts at the same end of the interior as the main lugs or main breaker or to the side for panels requiring ground fault. Branch neutral connections are provided for a wide variety of breaker combinations and suitable for copper or aluminum wires. The solid neutral is insulated but can be bonded to the enclosure with a full-capacity bonding strap for service entrance requirements.
Accessories A wide variety of accessories are available for field or factory installation into I-Line panelboards.
Equipment ground bars are available for termination of equipment grounding conductors.
Specifically designed QO™ distribution panels mount in I-Line panelboards the same as branch circuit breakers. This allows less expensive QO 15-through-30-ampere breakers to be installed to feed lighting or receptacle circuits from I-Line panelboards applied on 240 V systems.
UL Listed box extensions provide additional end gutter when additional wire bending space is desired.
Blank fillers and extensions are required to fill unused circuit breaker mounting space in I-Line panelboards and switchboards. Specially engineered blank fillers are used with PowerPact™ with Micrologic™ breakers to ensure easy visibility for metered data on the LCD screen.
Smart: built-in communication capabilities
Interface Modules The top I-Line box extension holds Modbus communication interface modules (IFMs). The IFM is the only accessory required for connecting to the network. It contains the Modbus address and automatically adapts to the Modbus network in which it is installed.
Communications Side Car This 14-inch box extension gives the I-Line panelboard power metering and communications capabilities, when equipped with PowerPact with Micrologic molded case circuit breakers. The front display modules mounted to the front of the side car provide local access to detailed metering information. The solid neutral mounts inside the side car along with communications equipment for ease of customer access. The innovative structure also stores supporting communication accessories including power supplies and insulation modules.
PowerPact with Micrologic I-Line Breakers PowerPact with Micrologic breakers provide a smart, safe, and simple solution to the I-Line HCP, HCP-SU, and HCRU interior configurations. These circuit breakers are available as a main breaker or branch breaker in Standard, Ammeter, and Energy electronic trip options.
While seamlessly integrating into the Schneider Electric™ energy management solutions, PowerPact with Micrologic molded case circuit breakers in I-Line construction provide integrated metering with both local and remote communication options.
With a choice among thermal-magnetic circuit breakers, standard and advanced electronic trip unit circuit breakers, select the PowerPact with Micrologic circuit breakers that are right for the job.
Thermal-magnetic molded case circuit breakers
Most common design; automatically opens circuit when it’s overloaded or short-circuited
Uses bimetals and electromagnetic assemblies to provide protection
Ideal for applications where overload conditions are concern because the instantaneous trip allow it to interrupt with no intentional delay
Standard electronic trip circuit breakers Provide long-time, short-time, and instantaneous trip protection
Current transformers sense current and trip units evaluate current to trip the solenoid to trip the breaker
Allow the user to easily adjust settings of the circuit breaker per specific system requirements
Advanced electronic trip circuit breakers Add communications and power metering and monitoring capabilities
Trip units allow the circuit breaker to communicate with other circuit breakers, gather power information, monitor events, and provide predictive maintenance information, to help reduce electrical operating costs
I-Line circuit breakers — the heart of any panelboard
