Product Description
Requirement and Description:
The warehouse slotting software is a tool used to quickly and accurately create load plans based on storage aid characteristics and item characteristics. The current process for creating a load plan is to manually and virtually load items into storage locations. This current process is very time consuming, prone to error, creates non-optimized solutions, creates difficult to edit plans, and requires many iterations to approach an acceptable solution. The new slotting software will result in improved responsiveness to warehouse optimization requests by Army supply activities.
The software package and associated professional services shall have the below important characteristics.
1. The ability to efficiently place inventory with a set of specific characteristics and quantity into a set of storage aids with specified characteristics.
2. The ability to group items of a specified characteristic into similar or nearby storage aids.
3. The ability to create custom storage aids.
4. The ability to create variable size drawer bins.
5. The ability to use a custom location-labeling scheme.
6. The ability to edit/change small portions (or individual items) in the load plan.
7. The ability to upload existing slotting plans into the software.
8. The ability to publish a PDF of a side-by-side location and item loading plan.
9. Training services for all aspects of the software related to creating, editing, and publishing a custom load plan.
