Question 1: Can you confirm if all items are government-owned linen? Are there any items that are contractor-owned?
Response: All items are government-owned. See PWS 1.2.
Question 2: Would you be open to all items being contractor-owned; all linen to service this contract would be provided by the contractor to the government as a linen rental program.
Response: No, the government owns all its own linen and is not considering a linen rental program.
Question 3: Are the estimated quantities based on historical numbers?
Response: Yes, the quantities in Technical Exhibits 1 & 2 are based on historical data.
Question 4: Will the estimated quantities fluctuate throughout the year? Would there be an increase or decrease of quantities?
Response: The quantities will fluctuate throughout the year, but are not projected to exceed the historical data listed in Technical Exhibits 1 & 2.
Question 5: Can you provide the existing incumbent and details if this is currently being serviced?
Response: The current incumbent performing the laundry services is Mission Linen Supply.
Question 6: If there is an incumbent, could you please provide the current / previous contract number?
Response: The current contract number is W9124A17C0002.
Question 7: When do you anticipate an award decision?
Response: The expected award timeframe is May 2022.
Question 8: When do you anticipate service to start?
Response: Service will start 1 July 2022. See PWS 2.2.2 Period of Performance.
Question 9: Will I have enough room to get a box truck or my trailer near the pickup location?
Response: Current contractor uses the largest moving van with electric lift gate. The COR followed their delivery and pick up route for a month. He didn’t notice any issues with getting their moving van into and out of position at customer locations. There are a few areas that may cause a problem with a truck and trailer combination. This depends on the length of the truck and trailer combined.
Question 10: Do you have laundry racks or bags for soiled laundry?
Response: Current contractor provides a minimum of one rolling bin per customer in order for units to place dirty linen for collection.
Question 11: Do you have laundry carts to move the laundry?
Response: Laundry carts are provided by the current contractor and they maintain them in order to pick up dirty linen and drop off cleaned linen for each individual customer unit. Some units were provided with more than two carts. These units have a large volume of dirty linen produced weekly given their mission set.
Question 12: The mattress pad. Is that just a vinyl mattress protector or is it a topper that has foam?
Response: The mattress pad 100% polyester.
