Mesquite Extraction Services
Question and Answer responses as of 0945 hours, 1 September 2015
Question 19: Do we have to remove the manpower unit price from the acreage unit price?
Answer 19: No. All contract costs for each mesquite tree density (light, moderate and heavy) should be included for each contract line item.
Question 20: Please clarify the six month option pricing (IAW FAR 52.217-8)?
Answer 20: To obtain the six month option pricing IAW FAR 52.217-8, add the prices for contract line items 4001, 4002, 4003 and 4004 together and divide by two.
Question 21: The question was asked if the contractor would need to anticipate losing days to military training or testing, it was answered one weekday per week for military testing. What day of the week should the contractor anticipate losing due to testing?
Answer 21: Days and dates for military training and testing will vary during the base year of the contract and will be coordinated by the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). The COR will give as much advance notice as possible to enable the successful offeror to maximize the use of their time, equipment and employees.
Question 22: What are the anticipated work shifts and work hours for this project?
Answer 22: The work shifts for the employees remain the responsibility of the successful offeror. The mesquite extraction area will be available from ½ hour before sunrise to ½ hour after sunset on weekdays and Saturdays. It is requested that no work be planned or completed on Sundays, due to the proximity of two local churches and the potential disruption to their services.
Question 23: Is there a secured location on-site where the contractor can store their service vehicle
(vehicle that stores diesel fuel and grease, used for servicing construction equipment)?
Question 23: For planning purposes, a locked, fenced area will be available. This area may not be close by the work area. A containment system for the potential leakage of fuels and oils will remain the responsibility of the contractor and must be approved by the COR prior to using for storage.
