Questions for Arc Flash PPE Rental and Launder - W9124823Q0017 – Solicitation

1. Is there an incumbent? If so, what is the contract number? What is the contract value?

There is not an incumbent.

2. Are you able to share the budget?

No.

3. Are site visits allowed? If so, when and how can we schedule a site visit?

A Site Visit will not be held, however, Contractors are welcome to visit and tour the installation.

4. Fabric Performance: Shirt Cat 2 / 8.6 Cal. The Cat 2 pant Cal rating requested (20.7) is much higher than the shirt? The Jacket is even higher at 52.0 Cal? Are you able to fill us in the type of work this team will be doing?

(Typically, shirts, pants, and jackets are an 8.6 cal for powerline workers and can provide the protection needed in an arc flash event. The Shirts and pants are typically the same cal intensity. I would like to clarify that you want different garment cal intensities.)

The PWS reflects the findings/conclusions from an internal safety committee review.

5. What is the preferred color of the garments?

Navy Blue or Grey.

6. Where is the preferred pick and drop off location?

Building 3709 Fort Campbell.

7. You stated logo embroidery. Do you want embroidery or sewed tags? We recommend sewed tags for ARC rated garments to keep the ARC rating.

Sewed tags are acceptable as long as they are ARC rated.

PWS updated to reflect change.

8. Price schedule is in error. 101*11 shirts & pants= 1111. 2x101 jackets=202. Logo and name tag quantities are also in error.

Pricing Schedule v.2 updated.

9. Is the unit price for the entire year?

No. The pricing schedule defines unit price frequency (e.g., Item 1001 unit price includes weekly service for Five (5) sets pickup, five (5) sets drop off, and one (1) to wear (11 in total); Item 1003 unit price includes DPW logo application to 11 shirts and two (2) jackets).

10. Per section 5.3.6: Do you expect 3 replacements per year at no cost?

Updated PWS to removed paragraph 5.3.6 and 5.4.4.
