About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for RFQ W9124725QA012 issued by the 18th Field Artillery Forward Area Billet (FAB) regarding ice containers.

The document addresses two key inquiries from potential contractors. First, regarding project history, this is a brand-new procurement with no incumbent contractor or prior similar award. While the Brigade Headquarters maintains one similar ice box through a GPC (Government Purchase Card) arrangement, there is currently no active ice service or ongoing requirement associated with it. Second, regarding infrastructure requirements, electrical power outlets are already installed at all designated installation locations, and contractors are not responsible for providing power connections. The government has confirmed that drop electrical outlets are in place at each location where the ice containers will be positioned.

Q&A for 18th Field Artillery FAB Ice Containers RFQ W9124725QA012

Question 1: Is there any incumbent/recompete or this is a brand-new project? If yes, could you please provide us with their award number or even if the customer bought similar services in the past.

Answer: This is a brand-new project and has never been contracted. There is one similar ice box at the BDE HQ that is GPC maintained just for the unit. There is currently no ice service or requirement to sustain it currently.

Question 2: Could you please clarify whether electrical power outlets will be available at the installation locations for the ice storage boxes, or if the contractor is expected to provide power connections?

Answer: The designated locations have a drop electrical outlet already in place at each location. There are no expectations for the contractor to provide power connections.
