About this file

This is a Question and Answer document for federal contract W9123826QA010 addressing elevator services at three dam locations: Success Lake (Schafer Dam), Kaweah Lake (Terminus Dam), and Isabella Lake (Isabella Dam).

The contract scope covers maintenance and certification services for three passenger elevators across the three facilities. The Schafer elevator (Nidec Elevator Systems, Serial #MPEG18782, installed 1961) serves 4 floors at 100 ft/min with 8-person/1200-lb capacity. The Terminus elevator (Montgomery Elevator, installed 1962) serves 5 floors at 100 ft/min with 8-person/1200-lb capacity. The Isabella elevator (Schumacher Model #S)-40296, installed 1954) serves 3 floors at 100 ft/min with 1000-lb capacity. The previous incumbent contract (W9123821P0019) valued at approximately $305,000 covered only the Schafer and Terminus elevators for five years (base year plus four option years); this new contract expands coverage to include Isabella Lake. Third-party certification personnel performing Category 1 and Category 5 testing must be licensed/certified elevator mechanics or companies complying with California industry standards and California labor code definitions of qualified conveyance inspectors; QEI certification is not specifically required. Site visits and walkthroughs must be scheduled in advance through the Contracting Officer's Representative, as the area is not accessible to the public or non-U.S. citizens. Last maintenance was performed in February 2026 for Schafer and Terminus elevators and October 15, 2024 for Isabella.
