W9123825QA027, Englebright Lake Grounds Maintenance (LPTA) Questions and Answers.

1. Will there be a site visit to assess the fallen trees?

1A. The park can provide a site visit if needed. I believe currently we have around 7 trees that need to be cleared.

2. If a tree has fallen on the forest side of the fire break, and branches lay on the fire break. Are we to only cut and clear the branches inside of the fire break, or do we have to go outside of the fire break and cut up the whole tree?

2A. No, we are concerned primarily about the campground side and the fire break we do not clear wood on the forest side.

3. If the tree is in heavy brush and poison oak on a steep uphill, will it need to be cut?

3A. The areas that we clear are campsites, trails between sites, roadways and along roadways, open areas and fire breaks all are not in poison oak and steep uphill’s. We just need the trees out of the way of traffic should they fall into it.

4. Item 0001 Fire Break services: The fire break shall be cleaned down to the bare soil.

Does this mean that we are to only blow the debris with a backpack blower, or are we to weedeat all the grass and weeds down to the bare mineral soil?

4A. Weed eat down to dirt.

5. Regarding downed trees along roadsides. There is only one place in the PWS A.

Narrows Recreation Area: It speaks of downed trees along the roadside shall be cut into manageable pieces (6) shall be fed into woodchipper. This is the only place in the PWS that mentions wood chipping. All of the times it asks to cut into manageable pieces and stack into wood piles. Can we just cut and stack wood in the Narrows Recreation area or do we need to price in a woodchipper?

5A. Narrows Rec is a small area if we can move the wood we would be amenable to moving if there is too much to be moved then it needs to be chipped.

6. What is the estimate of the recurring acreage that will be tended?

6A. I do not have an exact measurement but roughly .5 to 2 acres

7. Is there a previous incumbent and award amount for this project in the past?

7A. There is no previous incumbent.

W9123825QA027, Englebright Lake Grounds Maintenance (LPTA) Questions and Answers.

8. Could you please advise if there will be a site visit for the above solicitation?

8A. We can provide a site visit if needed and time allows

9. Do you have any historical workload data available (e.g., acres weedeated, number of downed trees, or average frequency of cleanup per month)?

9A. acres weed eated I do not have historical information on this, it depends on the type of year that we have on average we clear 2-4 trees in a year, We typically do the work in shot at the beginning of the Rec season to clear the campsites from the winter months and spring growth.
