About this file

This document is a Request for Information (RFI) Questions and Answers document for a demolition project. The document contains four key questions and responses regarding the demolition of a building. The questions address critical project details such as:

  1. Lack of an Asbestos and Lead survey, with uncertainty about material cleanliness
  2. Building interior status and potential loose debris
  3. Allowance for bidder qualifications/exclusions (currently unknown)
  4. Confirmation of building removal scope, specifically that foundations will be removed but base rock will not, and that foundation voids will be filled with native soil material

The questions suggest potential complexity and unknowns in the demolition project that bidders will need to carefully evaluate and potentially seek further clarification on before submitting a proposal.

Text version

1) I did not see an Asbestos and Lead survey. Are we bidding the demolition with the assumption that all materials are clean? I have no data/survey available and am not able to make this assumption.

2) Is the building empty or does loose debris exist inside? There may be some debris inside (old desks, etc.)

3) Will bidder be permitted to submit qualifications/exclusions? Unknown

4) Please confirm Building removal includes removal of foundations but not base rock. Please also confirm these voids will need to be filled similar to sidewalk removal (“with native type soil material”)? Building removal includes removal of foundations but not base rock. And yes, the voids will need to be filled similar to sidewalk removal.
