1.3 SUPPLEMENTARY CONDITIONS REQUIREMENTS

1.3.1 SCR-1 Location of Work

The Project is located in Sacramento County, California, along portions of the American River levee that protects the City of Sacramento.

1.3.2 SCR-2 Scope of Work

The existing right bank (east) levee of the American River at Site R7 is approximately 11 feet in height (as measured from the landside toe) with a crown width of approximately 10 to 15 feet in the levee section. There is an

00 73 05 - 2 asphalt road on the levee crown on both sides of the H Street Bridge. There are unpaved dirt ramps on both sides of the bridge connecting the levee crown to an asphalt pedestrian path on the waterside of the levee, and an asphalt ramp down to a path on the landside that runs parallel to Fair Oaks Boulevard. The length of the "window" is approximately 151 feet. The waterside and landside slopes are approximately 4:1 and 3:1 (H:V), respectively. H Street becomes Fair Oaks Boulevard at the right bank of the river.

Site L7 is directly across the river from Site R7. The existing left bank (west) levee of the American River at Site L7 is approximately 12 feet in height (as measured from the landside toe) with a crown width of approximately 18 to 20 feet in the levee section. There is an asphalt road on the levee crown on both sides of the H Street Bridge. There are unpaved dirt ramps on both sides of the bridge connecting the levee crown to an asphalt pedestrian path on the waterside of the levee, and an asphalt ramp down to a path on the landside that runs parallel to H Street. The length of the "window" is approximately 325 feet. The waterside and landside slopes are both approximately 2.5:1 (H:V).

There is a 12" steel water pipe suspended from the bottom of the H Street Bridge at both sites. There are also overhead electric lines and power poles at both sites. At Site L7, there is an underground 72" steel storm drain pipe that connects to a vault on the waterside slope of the levee, just south of the H Street Bridge. This active storm drain pipe will be encased in controlled low strength material (CLSM) where the pipe crosses the proposed levee improvements.

1.3.48 SCR-50 Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District (SRCSD) Conditions

R7 USACE CONTRACTOR acknowledges the existence of Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District (SRCSD) sewer pipelines in the Premises and adjacent to the Premises, identified in the "American River Common Features WRDA96 Project, Phase 2 Remaining Sites, Sites R7 and L7, H Street Bridge Crossing" Project Contract Plans.

Due to the lack of ground cover over the existing sewer force mains, SRCSD has concerns over the potential loading impacts to the facilities by construction equipment on the proposed access roads and staging area; direct staging (static loads) shall not be placed over SRCSD facilities. SRCSD is requiring that plating will be placed on or around these facilities in order to mitigate any potential loading concerns. Plating shall be designed to handle the anticipated construction loads with a minimum of 40,000 pounds, whichever is greater. The Contractor shall be required to provide SRCSD with the loading information for all applicable construction equipment to be staged within the SRCSD easement (or over SRCSD facilities) as well as the means and methods used to mitigate the projected loading.
