I.1 UNIT PRICE BIDS
A. Contractor's lump sum base bid shall include acoustic ceiling panels (2’x 4’) replacement which are estimated at 5000 S.F. in the Assembly Hall and various locations in offices for this bid.
Contractor's lump sum base bid shall be adjusted based on the actual square footage of replaced acoustic panels. Contractor agrees to submit a square foot unit cost and do the following for actual repair work performed:
1. If the area of replaced acoustic panels does not exceed 5000 S.F. the lump sum base bid shall be reduced. The area difference between the estimated 5000 S.F. of replaced acoustic panels and the actual area of replaced acoustic panels shall be multiplied by the square foot unit cost.
This amount shall be deducted from the lump sum base bid.
2. If the area of replaced acoustic panels does exceed 5000 S.F. the lump sum base bid shall be increased. The area difference between the estimated 5000 S.F. of replaced acoustic panels and the actual area of replaced acoustic panels shall be multiplied by the square foot unit cost.
This amount shall be added to the lump sum base bid.

2. Anchors: Toggle bolt type for anchorage to hollow masonry. Wedge anchor and lag bolt type for anchorage to solid masonry or concrete. Bolt or ballistic fastener for anchorages to steel.
3. Framing Devices: Beam Hangers, galvanized, sized to fit beam blocking under new roof access hatch. Manufacturer: Simpson or equal.
II.3 FACTORY WOOD TREATMENT
A. Fire retardant: AWPA Treatment C20, Exterior Type, chemically treated and pressure impregnated.
B. Wood Preservative (Pressure Treatment): AWPA Treatment C1 using water borne preservative with
0.25 percent retainment.
C. Wood Preservative (Surface Application): green colored. Treat ends of cut members with copper naphthenate.
III PART 3 EXECUTION
III.1 PREPARATION
A. Remove existing coping and flashing as identified in project drawings. Install new parapet cap nailer as shown on project drawings.
B. Replace existing materials damaged during the foam removal, damaged mansard / soffit framing as directed by ECI, under provisions of specification section 01016.
III.2 ROUGH CARPENTRY
A. Workmanship: Accurately cut, fit, and securely fasten items to produce plumb, level, true, and rigid work. Do not splice individual framing members between supports. Erect faces of framing members (studs, plates, joists, rafters and/or headers) in straight, accurate alignment, plumb or level in same plane to receive sheet type finish materials. Place horizontal members crown side up.
Install joists, beams, rafters and trusses with bottom edge free of defects affecting tensile strength.
B. Plates and Sills on Concrete or Masonry: Bed plates and sills of exterior walls in portland cement mortar to obtain continuous level bearing, bolt down after mortar sets. Bolt sizes and spacing as required per applicable provisions of the UBC. Use washers under nuts.
C. Rafters: Notch to fit bearings. Cut in solid blocking at ends and over bearings.
