W911XK-10-B-0007 Oakland County CIPP - Request for Information Updated 7 Sep 2010

1) Are CCTV videos or reports available for the 66” line requiring cleaning. Reports are included in solicitation showing approx. the amount of sediment in pipe at various locations and they must have been generated from a Sonar or CCTV inspection. Reports also indicate that certain portions could not be videoed any further.

Answer:

Sewer televising CD/DVD's used for the design of this project are available for review at the County Office located at: One Public Works Drive, Building 95 West, Waterford, MI 48328.

Contact person is Gary Nigro.

2) Is there any flow date for the 66” pipe. Need to know “low flow” and “peak flows” for cleaning purposes.

The flow within the 66-inch sewer was controlled by Oakland County Water Resources Commissioner’s Office (WRC) during the televising inspection of this line. WRC operated gates at Regulators 1, 5, and 6 to limit the flow during the inspection. This operation was completed during dry weather.

3) Are there any CCTV videos or reports for the lines that need to be CIPP’d. Need this to determine the amount of service laterals and flows to determine the extent of by-pass pumping that might be involved.

Answer: A profile view is not available for the siphon. In reference to the siphon drawing, drawing 54 is a sheet reference for the as-built of the siphon and is available at the County office for review. Gary Nigro has provided the attachments and email explanation below.

Sheet number 2 is the plan sheet from the 12 Towns Drain project from 1962.

I have added some notes to the plan in Adobe Acrobat pointing out the siphon.

Sheet number 39 is a detail sheet of how the siphon was constructed. Note that the manholes are at the bottom of the siphon and not at the top ends as would be expected.

The third attached document is a photograph of the two manholes on the siphon from the original construction.

11). It is possible to receive a copy of the previous CD/DVD inspections since we are not able to see them locally?

Answer: The CDs/DVDs can not be copied and mailed. See Questions 1 and 3.
